I used to keep track on my nation all the time (I've had several since 2005). But ever since I started talking on the forum, I've stopped playing the game. I haven't responded to an issue in several months...

First issue I got was "Nudists Demand Time in the Sun", so I made public nudity compulsory. So how come I keep getting issues asking whether I will allow fur, or require breastfeeders to cover up, or ban nudity on TV while children might be watching? I turned down school uniforms, and was told "students are known to show up at school in their pyjamas." Pardon me? They can wear pyjamas in the privacy of their own home, but that is certainly not legal in public!

No I got bored after a few weeks and forget the password of my old nation and came back for the forums.
Meh, invading Nazi regions got boring like 3 years ago...
yes, I set my government to be a true Democracy. so I don't decide on any issues, but let the people vote and choose. I'm just the most expensive figurehead my nation has.
and thanks to a clause in my consitution, they cannot remove me. :D

You should've had a poll option: "Nationstates has a forum?"
I probably would've voted that.

I use my nation in RP. Cause I'm a fucking nerd.
I started off focusing on my nation. Over time, I lost interest in my nation, and gained more interest in NSG.
More or less, my nation is a hyper-militarized society which runs very efficiently. The thing is, they're not aggressive. They know that randomly conquering small countries results in everyone trying to conquer you. So they just sit around doing their thing. And as long as they don't give anybody a reason, nobody tries to conquer them, due to obscenely powerful national defenses. First, you have to deal with the torpedo launchers on the seabed...
I sign in to NationStates occasionally so my nation doesn't get suspended (it's happened repeatedly, and I've received a warning that eventually, they won't restore it).
As for the issue of public nudity, Mirkanans think public nudity is dumb because they are paranoid, and most Mirkanan jackets are somewhat bulletproof. However, they do know having a hot female soldier flash the enemy is an excellent diversion, and occasionally make use of this tactic.

08-02-2008, 03:04
My old nation was predominantly a "game" nation. I was on the regional forum, editor of the regional newspape, recruiter, and even an invader, once in a while. Eventually I got bored, and my nation died. I was planning to return with New Limacon, but my old region was on its last legs, and eventually the twenty or so people left agreed to part ways, and perhaps regroup later.
That's when I, an abandoned fledging nation, came upon the General forums. I haven't left them since.
And now you know the rest of the story!

Sort of, but not really all the much. And I don't know where to find other good forums.
I still play the game, more or less. I'm a bit burned out on the issues, and I don't have time to do much RP, but I'm reasonably active in my region's government, and one of my other nation's is fairly active in its region.
My nation is very corrupt. Though technically a democracy, its government is bought & paid for by business interests.

I log in to my nations enough to keep them from expiring, and when I do I go ahead and play the issues. But since most of the issues are ones I've seen a lot of times already, my real interest is NSG (no RP for me).
As for how I run 'em...I run most of 'em from the perspective of the dictator, which is often quite at odds with how I'd want a government to run if I was just a regular citizen subject to its mandates. I do have one democracy but even that one has had its occasional dictatorial coup.
The overall conditions in my nations are often skewed by the fact that sometimes I can't resist clicking some really far-out option that I wouldn't do if it was for real (even as dictator), mainly because I've already seen what happens for all the "sensible" choices.
Yeah, I'm Chief Justice in one region.

I do play. Risottia and the risottian dominions of Pizzokker and Erbazzon.
i do two things on this site; play the issues, and run off at the keyboard here.
every few days or so i take a look at the roll playing treads in their respective forums. it has been years since i've seen any there that were about anything that remotely intrests me. mostly they all seem to be either trite and often rediculous, though in some cases well written, warefare cleche's, reguardless of timefraime they are set in, or some kind of athletic nonsense, and the rare instances of anything else, seem to assume a capitol based world context, as appearanly do many of the issues in 'the game'.
i do come here because i WAN'T to sim the kind of country i would LIKE to live in. NOT one that tries to bully the rest of the world, like the one that i (mundanely) do.

Sure I play, under various names (There are ninety different nations on my list at the moment, although most of them are in 'vacation mode' and only get checked occasionally...). Not so much for the issues now, as I've seen all but the very newest ones so many times, but for regional activities and the UN (Resolution #148 was all my own work, and I've put forwards a number of other proposals that haven't reached quorum) and occasional bits of RP...
Edit: The only other name under which I've posted much (rather than on a very occaisional basis when I happened to look at threads here while logged in as other nations) in General was, a few weeks ago, as my new UN member-nation This might be a puppet (http://www.nationstates.net/this_might_be_a_puppet).

I play the issues, but less frequently since they've gotten repetitive, and I can't seem to get any jobs initiatives started. I don't dig text games, so I save all my RPing for a graphical MMO. I spend 99% of my NS time in NSG. NSG IS the game I play. It's Bally Total Fitness for my argument muscles. ;)

LOL! Reminds me of the troll equivallant to a stripper in the Discworld. :)
The non-human membership of the Guild is made up of trolls. given the troll perspective on life and the passage of time, and the fact that trolls walk around nearly naked in normal circumstances, a troll "stripper" is more accurately a dresser - she dons more clothes as the act progresses, thus usually causing a riot by the time the fourth or fifth overcoat goes on. Trolls find the human attitude to stripping to be strange and peculiar. "It's not as if you don't already know what to expect", they say, with some truth.
