I think, at a minimum, next year's review will be very interesting.

(Presidential election years tend to be more entertaining than others. I wouldn't say the USA has a good government; I'd say we have a very entertaining government. (roughly paraphrased from "Thank You For Smoking."))

But, overall, I think the state of the world will not improve in the next year. Not significantly, anyway.

It's better to have an optimistic look out. Healthier for the mind.
