Darts, because nearly anyone can play it, it's usually in pubs, the rules are easy as hell. If you can't throw a dart it's a good laugh.

If not that then i'd choose a martial art of some form (cos i like exercise, hmmmm if only i could afford to keep going to my martial arts classes, i've had to give up unfortunately to preserve money, and time too i suppose, i still do some stretches but, it's not fair really)
Definately Martial arts, i did Tae Kwon Do but it's disputable if that's the best one as i have no experience of others i can't really comment on them, but i found it so much fun, and they allow women and chilren to train too.

Rally is a weird spot for me. On one level, it's really the ultimate race-no special pavement, extra long distance, the best test of driver and machine. However, not really spectator friendly. Sure, it's fun to watch them fly ass-out through corners or over jumps, but so is watching a stunt show. I'm not watching racing, per se, but driving skill. For the racing all I get is a result sheet. Sadly, the only way to get that spectator thrill you have to neuter the best parts of what makes rally the best. Rallycross is a little more spectator friendly, but doesn't have that test of endurance that really makes rally sing.

Though I'm big into endurance sports cars and it is hard even as a fan to really watch 8-24 hours straight of racing. It's easy to lose track of whats going on, especially when there are four classes on the track at once. But that's part of what makes it awesome for me.

It depends on the rules, if it were a Rugby based game, the tackling rules would frig the Americans up completely, if it were based on NFL rules...it would be close, I reckon.

Yeah, considering the sheer size of many American football players, I don't see that being nearly as easy of a task as you seem to think

Having once played a game of rugby against an American football team the physique difference is not as much as it would seem. (Ok we were a high school team playing an American high school team that were over in the UK for some team bonding and cultural enlightenment) That said, in the professional ranks of the games, you would have to discount the O line and Defensive Tackles, as they simply could not keep up with movement required in rugby, but the Rugby players would have a problem handling the line backers. Overall it would be an interesting challenge. To be fair you would have to have two games, one under each code.

I'm not a big fan of American football, it's far too stop start. But I watched the super bowl because I figured, hey, when in Rome..

It was great toward the end with all that drama but I definitely can't see myself sitting through a regular league game. My heart will always belong to soccer which can be free flowing, surprising, utterly mesmerising in a way no other sport can.

American Footballers are big, but are they any bigger than a Prop or any other member of the Scrum?I'd say percentage-wise, AmFootball has more large players...granted, I rarely get to watch rugby, so I couldn't really say.
It depends on the rules, if it were a Rugby based game, the tackling rules would frig the Americans up completely, if it were based on NFL rules...it would be close, I reckon.I'm not so sure Rugby players would transfer over so easily...the start/stop and style of hit are just too different
Don't forget that American Footballers wear armour and Rugby Players do not
I'm assuming that's meant to say I interperet them as being bigger because of the padding...in which case, no, I take that into account. I just really think NFL players on average are larger than rugby players. Mind you, I don't have tons of exposure to the sport.

I might, though probably won't, see if I can dig this up but they already had a match up between American Football and Rugby, playing both games against each other.

The American Football team won both, fairly easily if I remember correctly.

Part of the reason is that Rugby Union has only recently gone professional - you have no idea of the fitness techniques used in American Football compared to Rugby - those guys aren't only bigger, they're also stronger and faster.

In terms of overall skills required, I'd lean to Rugby but I accept that my bias plays a role, until we reach the training standards of American Football, we'll never know.

Somehow, one's never reminded more of one's Americanness than during a discussion of sports. Had I made this poll (and I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it at all), I would have listed the choices thus:

Football (it would be understood that it was American/Canadian)
Basketball
Baseball
