The doorbell rang the other night and when I answered it there were two Girl Scouts and their dad. Yep, it is that time of year again. We ordered five boxes total. Nrs. C loves the Samoas and I like the Thin Mints. So, what is your favorite Girl Scout Cookie.

Here is a link so you can look at all of them. http://www.girlscoutcookies.org/

Oh, goody. If it weren't going to a good cause, I wouldn't buy them, they're way overpriced. Except, I do like the lemon ones and the the thin mints.

Thin mints, hands down.

If those aren't available, I can do the shortbread or the peanut butter & chocolate ones. Top choice is definitely thin mints, though.

looking at the sight I'd say Lemonades but cruelly I will never taste such delights :(

I've always wondered though why kids need to be escorted to sell cookies at someones door

Samoas and Tagalongs; this year, though, I am trying the new lemon ones.

a conspiracy to make the scouts more money no doubt! why do you think they can't find any of the money? :p

And this is relevant how?

In the way that if they are not available here, I am not able to have tried any, thus cannot have a "favourite type"

And maybe a few other mysterious ways, I'm not exacly sure about those though...

would you like some cookies? no doubt Swilatia probably does however without young girls to feed him he will have to subsist on *shudders* cookies from the supermarket!

Their mints are good, but Girl Scout cookies are the Macs of the cookie world.

I wasn't aware Macs are peddled door to door by little girls.

This would be akin to Swilatia starting a thread about the beauty of Mazury and people coming in simply to announce, "I have no opinion, I have never been there."

It adds precisely nothing to the discussion of how beautiful Poland is, as "There are no Girl Scout cookies here," adds precisely nothing to a thread about which is your favorite type.

This thread is making me long for the days when I lived at home. Both my sisters were scouts, so my parents always ended up buying about twenty boxes, and I could mooch off that for months.

More on topic, Caramel deLites (or Samoas, if you really must) combine coconut, chocolate and caramel, thus they are as close to perfection as a boxed cookie can come.
Though, a box of Thin Mints that has been sitting in the back of the freezer is a close second.

All I know is that I am getting 2 boxes of the Peanut Butter Patties so naturally I'd assume those are my favorite.

One of the custodians for this dorm has a daughter in the Girl Scouts and she is selling them here. I think they've struck a gold mine. 221 guys who are usually hungry for any sort of cookie.

Well, I can't say I've had them, but based on the website, I'd say the Samoas® are my favorite.

On an unrelated note, does anyone else find it incredibly frightening that there's a website dedicated to girl scout cookies? I had no idea they were so well organized!

It's their big fundraiser, so yep, they are.

If you remember the Addams Family movie, there was a bit about the Scouts trying to sell cookies...

Girl Scout: Is this made from real lemons?
Wednesday: Yes.
Girl Scout: I only like all-natural foods and beverages, organically grown, with no preservatives. Are you sure they're real lemons?
Pugsley: Yes.
Girl Scout: Well, I'll tell you what. I'll buy a cup if you buy a box of my delicious Girl Scout cookies. Do we have a deal?

Caramel Delites, definitely (or Samoas, as they're called elsewhere in the country - I never quite understood why the cookies have different names in different regions). Thin Mints are also excellent, of course.

can i choose the submissive redhead? jk. (and i'd be very much surprised if i was the first to make such similar comment)

as for surgerfied pastries and other such decadent indulgences, any flavor as long as its chocklet.

Trefoils, Thin Mints, and the peanut butter sandwiches (Do See Dos?) are my personal favorites.

RE the two Fla. bitches: These are the kind of people who could have used a good old fashioned caning growing up. Honestly, what kind of scumbag robs a Girl Scout?

They are all good, but I Love these:

Thanks-A-Lot™: A shortbread cookie with a layer of fudge on the bottom and the words "Thank You" in English, French, Chinese, Swahili or Spanish embossed on the top. Thanks-A-Lots™ have been made by ABC Bakers since 2006 and were preceded by a similar cookie called the Animal Treasure.

Ooh! Ooh! Girl Scout cookies! I don't think I had any last year, let's see what I want ...
Definitely the Caramel DeLites, the Thin Mints, and the Lemonades. And I'd probably give the Cinna-Spins a whirl.
It's so unfair that the Girl Scouts can't solicit on campus. We'd be their best customers.
