So I ask you - do you know of anyone who opposes womens' rights?

Yes

Do you oppose them yourself?

No

Most importantly, could you provide links to similarly inclined websites? I need a laugh.

Since I've been on this forum, I've encountered a bewildering array of political viewpoints. I've met anarchists, fascists, communists, racists, and at least one guy who believes I should die. But there are two political viewpoints I have never encountered.

1. That the Westboro Baptist Church is right, and Fred Phelps is a rational individual.
2. That womens' rights should be restricted, the 19th Amendment should be repealed, that women belong in the home and should be kept there.

Furthermore, upon reflection, while I know that the WBC is a Western organization, I have yet to hear of any Western organization that holds the latter viewpoint. Is support for womens' rights so universal in the West?

Islamism is an obvious answer. Of course that goes by my own definition that Western religion = Western civilization, which for some reason people find difficult to go along with. It seems to me that "the west" is a pretty vague term. Having been born in 1987 I find it very strange to hear former Soviet nations in Europe referred to as being part of the East, for example.

Women... Allowed to Vote?

Yes, call me crazy, but I have recently been considering the idea of allowing women to vote. I've heard that in far away countries like Saudi Arabia, where tolerance to women and female rights are extremely high in comparison to the west, women are in fact allowed to vote... But imagine the same here. Would you feel comfortable living under the rule of someone who was partially brought to power by women? Surely, the strenuous thought and activities which come alongside picking a voter could make women forget their main duty in life, and become barren? Believe it or not, the repercussions to such actions would be plentiful. It is also believed that major thought processes, which females are unfamiliar with, could be the cause of the disease "lesbianism" - although there is some claims that this is just a symptom of dementia. A wise woman once said "I don't know, ask a man." This is the mentality all women in our countries should follow, and it would be a major blight on our countries if women were to start forming individual views. Have your say - but females... Please refrain unless given permission by your husband.

Explain this term, bitte.

Islamism is a modern political movement that started in the 20th century as a reaction to secular dictatorships in the Arab world. It is characterised by an extreme fundamentalist approach to Islam and a belief that it belongs at the heart of government, and an equal opposition to secular governments and ideologies (such as feminism). Also known as Islamo-Fascism in some circles.

OK, what I'm looking for is a link to a list of reasons why women should not get the vote.

I'll give you a few right here:

1. If you are a man your vote carries more weight.

2. Women wouldn't be elected into public office as much, giving you a better chance as a man.

3. Less tax dollars would go into counting votes since less people would be voting.

4. Since women would be less connected to the political scene, you could tell your children whatever you want about politics.

5. Women will be less likely to go out and support a certain cause, making them stay in the house to serve the men.

There are five good reasons why women shouldn't be able to vote.:)

No, absolutely not. Women tend to vote without thinking. For instance, they vote for Hillary Clinton just because she's a woman (which is debatable). Also, they tend to vote the same way as their husbands, so it's just a duplicate vote. And most importantly, the woman's job is in the home, caring for her children and her husband and making sure he is as comfortable as possible. They have no place in politics.

I seem to remember reading that Jeremy Bentham, the utilitarian philosopher, didn't think women should vote because he believed they could influence their husbands' decisions. Granted, Bentham died in the 1830s, but it's a view, nonetheless.

Women are not subservient to men. A husband is not more important than his wife. There is no reason why the female of the relationship should be the one taking care of the home rather than the male.

They have no place in politics.

You haven't provided any good reason for this, so, Fail.
