Republicans should probably want to donate money to his campaign.

Ok, I never paid Nader much attention, but after reading his comments I have to ask: did he always spew such masturbatory tripe?

YAY!!! support for Nader grows! :)Oh, I supported him before. He just hadn't decided to run yet, so it was too early for me to say I'd vote for him.

I'd even offer to give some money but that might be a bit dodgy what with me being un-American

of course does anyone actually think he has a chance of winning this?

of course does anyone actually think he has a chance of winning this? No, but if there's one thing the last election taught me, it's that if I'm going to be throwing my vote away, I might as well do it for a candidate I like.

I don't know that he has quite as much juice as he did in the last two. The base is more motivated and it largely has to do by being charged by their choices, not this time by the consequences of losing. In 2000 he rode a wave of dissatisfaction, and in 2004 there was a kind of, "Well, this is what we got..." As the Obama and Clinton camps drift further apart there might be a significant drift of the losers, but I just don't think he has the cache to be a 'spoiler,' so to speak.

I do support his notion, though, against being called a 'spoiler.' Actually, as much as I dislike Ron Paul, it'd be nice to have him run as well as an independent. Because we have locked ourselves into a binary notion of politics a third party will always be considered to be taking votes from one side or another, so I've always theorized that you need not a third, but a fourth to break the binary notion (even though, I admit, it kind of falls in as well).

Don't mistake, however, a desire of Paul to run as a desire to see him win. I could in fact be accused of only wanting him to run because I know he wouldn't win-if I thought he could I wouldn't want him anywhere near the ballot.

He's the idealist candidate. He's got a small cadre of followers, but nothing really major.

He was Ron Paul before there was a Ron Paul, but he's not batshit insane like Paul.

I fear that, with the advent of the Paulbot, other models may soon come into existence.

While we do not yet see Naderbots, McCainbots, or Clintonbots, they may soon begin to appear the the dark reaches of the Y'toub area on the Interweb.

I don't know, it didn't actually work for Paul, hell, in the end it didn't even work for Dean...maybe we've reached the point where we can finally admit that the internet doesn't really matter all that much...or at least not as much as we'd like to believe...

Since when as something not working stopped an internet troll?

We still have Paulbots here, of all places, despite our rigourous hunting programs.

I agree, though, it hasn't worked and most likely won't for some time.

Nader should stop running for President, and use his name recognition to advance some environmental cause.

Well, I don't think it matters as much as television debates for instance, or corruption, but I wouldn't underestimate the power of internet either. Especially if you're a small group with little coverage from traditional media it can be very useful. It's also a cheap way to reach many people. (cheaper than traditional media anyways)

He's also the most boring politician in history. His enemies can't even manufacture dirt on him.
