AFC Championship- Patriots 21 Chargers 12
NFC Championship- Giants 23 Packers 20 OT

Both great games. Who do you think will win? I think the Patriots have it, but the G-Men will put up a good fight.

The simple solution would have been to RP it as if it were happening in your nation, and everyone responded ICly, that would have been the way you should have done it.

But the Patriots will floor the Giants, they already beat the better Manning.

I think the Pats will win. The last time a team has gone undefeated was 1972 Dolphins.

I feel pretty smug knowing that I predicted it (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13387053&postcount=160), if only in jest at the time. However, given all the broadcast problems that occured the last time these two teams met, I do want to make sure this game will be broadcast nationally, right? :p

All kidding aside, I don't think we'll see a repeat of the Patriots' 38-35 win- it'll be by a much wider margin. This one is for *all* the marbles, not just records and pride, meaning the Patriots will have much more intensity this time around. Furthermore, given New England's proven Super Bowl track record (including that of Tom Brady) and given the New York Giants' spotty playoff record, not to mention Eli Manning's youth, I don't see how the Giants could ultimately compare with New England. I don't think I need to bring up the talent gap here either.

That said, there *is* history on the side of the Giants- the last time the Giants faced their Super Bowl adversary in the regular season (in 1990 against the Buffalo Bills), they lost their regular season game (at the Meadowlands no less) yet won the Super Bowl (while also being the underdog). Furthermore, in their other Super Bowl-winning year (1986), the Giants also played their opponent in the regular season (the Denver Broncos, at the Meadowlands, but this time Phil Simms & Co. won the game). In fact, the only time the Giants lost the Super Bowl (2000 against the Baltimore Ravens) was when they didn't play their opponent in the regular season. So New England's victory is anything *but* assured.

Besides, New Yorkers have to get back at the Bostonians after they took the World Series, right? :D

They were on the way to choking against San Diego but the Chargers couldn't turn a few of those turnovers into TD's.

Eli Manning: Game Manager. Eli isn't good, he just isn't bad.

Also, I don't want to see the Pats win but I don't want to see the Giants win. I'm an Eagles fan, and NY would never forget how fucking magical they were when they stopped the Pats.

So the Giants overcame the Packers last night in below zero weather. I guess the 3rd Tyne was the charm(oh God horrid pun!) because Tyne scored the winning kick. The Giants finally won 23 to 20 in overtime.

Yay!:D but they're facing the dreaded Patriots! I hope the Giants can crush Tom Brady and bring an abrupt ending to the Pats perfect season.

Predictions?

It'll be a long and boring game, with time outs that effectively cut into shows that people would otherwise rather be watching. The game will then be subject to unprecedented snowfall. *nods*

I think the Pats will win big. Besides, it's better for fans outside of New York if they do- just imagine all the airtime on ESPN wasted on showing the covers of the respective NY papers if they win, and all the overhyped analysis just because they call themselves a New York team even if they do play in Jersey.

The Pat's offence looked pretty bad last night, and they still won by nine points. I think the Giants are doomed.

I think the Patriots will win by ten points, but no more. The fact the regular season game ended 38-35 doesn't lead me to think the Giants will be blown out of this one, but the fact New England just appears to be in a higher league than the NFL doesn't make me think that the Giants will have a chance either.

Patriots will throttle the giants. I have no interest in this superbowl because its going to be a route.

The Pats already beat the giants twice during the season (and the second time as only about 3 weeks ago), so I know for a fact this third time will be no different.

Might as well make the Pats 19-0 now and just give em the trophey, save everyone the trouble.

Twice? Um...they only played them once this season. They did play them in preseason but that was not the season.

true, but 3-0 with Belichick and Brady.

Also, Knights, they played only once this season. Pat's only play 3 teams more than once in a regular season, Jets, Dolphins, and Bills because they're AFC East.

Tom Brady does not cry. Tom Brady malfunctions.

Personally, if they don't have a super-fucking-awesome O-Line, Brady does not reach God status. Nor do they go 19-0.
