To fellow Libertarians out there: Who are you voting for?

I'll be voting for myself because I'm the only guy that I can trust 60% of the time. Seriously, as much as I may agree with the platform of the party they just don't pick the best candidates and have no chance in hell of winning.

Root, while his ambitions are noble, is a fool. He believes that lawyers contribute nothing to the economy (heard iof Rule of Law?)

Better than Ron Paul though

Having read this guys stances I just can't support him. It isn;t enough to support something, to want it, you have to make a plan and follow through because that's what Brian Boitano'd do. When Brian Boitano was in the olympics,
Skating for the gold,
He did two sow cows and a triple lutz,
While wearing a blind fold.

When Brian Boitano was in the alps,
Fighting grizzly bears,
He used his magical fire breath,
And saved the maidens fair.

So what would Brian Boitano do
If he were here today,
I'm sure he'd kick an ass or two,
That's what Brian Boitano'd do.

I want this V-chip out of me,
It has stunted my vo-ca-bu-lar-y.

And I just want my mom
To stop fighting everyone

For Wendy I'll be an activist, too,
Cos that's what Brian Boitano would do.

And what would Brian Boitano do,
He'd call all the kids in town,
And tell them to unite for true
That's what Brian Boitano would do.

When Brian Boitano travelled through time
To the year 3010,
He fought the evil robot kings
and saved the human race again

And when Brian Boitano built the pyramids,
He beat up Kubela Kong.

Cos Brian Boitano doesn't take shit from an-e-y-body

So lets all get together,
And unite to stop our mom's
And we'll save Terrance and Phillip too,
Cos that's what Brian Boitano do.

And we'll save Terrance and Phillip too,
Cos that's what Brian Boitano dooooo,
That's what Brian Boitano do.

I'm going to have to say I support him as well. I like his views and stance the best of all of the Libertarian Candidate.

Better still would be a president that actually considers the consequences of his actions, rather than blindly adhere to some legislative quota.

Please, it's probably just a saying that has no real meaning, like "Change" and "Family Values" and let's not forget "No Nation Building". You know, things Politicians would say to get elected.

So I have no compelling reason to vote for a Libertarian then. Just another politician that will say whatever to get elected. That's making a strong case.

It beats voting for another Neo-Con who thinks the Gayzz are out to get us and our children or the Democrats who think it's their business to take even more money out of my paycheck to cover their spending bill, mind you the Republican do the same thing and I hate them for that too.

However I also believe in tolerance for rights of religious Americans too. I believe in school prayer, God in our pledge of allegiance and on our currency. To remove these religious symbols would be to deny the rights and freedoms of religious Americans. I would also protect the rights of those who do not believe in God or religion to not participate in any public prayer or religious activities.

This is what really got me to stop reading. I can't believe it. What UTTER bullshit is that?

Then there is the fact he wants to tear apart the central government and let the states run everything. Did we not learn from the Articles of Conferation?

It's a rather lame attempt at trying to appear "moderate" by making mutually contradictory promises to both sides of a given issue.

A more skilled politician would know how to be a soulless liar without being so obvious about it.

I didn't like most of what the guy said, some things were ok like the end of the war on drugs or stopping corporate handouts, but most of it isn't what I support.

I wonder where they get the energy to compete in something they can't win. Really, if he posed for the photo on the left did he think he was going to win?

I hate to say it, but is it even worth it? The libertarian candidates have a 0% chance of winning.

I don't know what the positions of all the candidates are, but it doesn't matter since I wouldn't vote for a (capital 'L') Libertarian anyway.

Too right, but it's better just to go ahead and vote for a mainstream candidate who best represents libertarian beliefs. You forget that the US runs with only two political parties, and that these parties only change during a period of major social/ economic/ political distress.

*I support Voting ballots in English-only. My goal is to reduce the cost of government. Therefore we must stop wasting taxpayer money by printing ballots and administering elections in multiple languages.
So he will happily deny people who eglible to vote but can't read English? That seems fair enough, as it will save money on printing. Christ, how much does it cost to print off sheets of paper anyways?
*I support the total elimination of the Department of Education on the federal level.
That also seems stupid. His argument is that the more is spent on education, the less effect it becomes, which is blatantly an idiocy. Rather, the Department obviously needs to be re-organised and check to see where money goes, as opposed to removing altogether.
"Government screws up everything. If government says black, you can bet it's white. If government says sit still for your safety, you'd better run for your life!"

That just sounds like a load of crap.

However, his stance on the Iraq War does seem a lot more sensible, even if I can't see that the Iraqi people would vote for American soldiers to remain in place.

At this point in time, I can't support him, simply because his chances of winning are lower than Ron Paul's. However, when Dr. Paul loses the nomination and we end up with a choice between Hilary or McCain/Guiliani/Hucksterbee, THEN I'll probably vote for whoever the LP candidate is, just because he makes me barf less than the mainstream candidates do.

I don't think a libertarian should consider the pledge of allegiance or state money to be permissible, let alone the promotion of religion with them.

One vote does not do anything anyway. You are saying you should only vote for a candidate who is sure to win? You vote for people who will get more votes, but not for people who would run the country well? What that, is the point of voting?

And for some reason you think your little measly vote is going to actually influence the election if you vote major party?
