I Hope Iowa and New Hampshire Secede From the Union

Well, not really. But I am getting sick of those two states getting all the press they do during campaigns.
I always understood caucuses and primaries to be a way of making party nominations more democratic. Then why do we allow less than two percent of the population to have so much influence? Any answers would be appreciated.

Fuck I'd move to NH just to seem important in these primaries.

Go right ahead. New Hampshire is already close to the border, it shouldn't be too difficult to force it on Canada, and Iowa...Iowa can be divvied up among Minnesota and Missouri.

2% of the population have greater political power because that 2% of the population have greater political power

What about the towns that can vote at midnight because they only have like 3 voters?

Oi. We let Wyoming be a state. I don't know what you're complaining about.

Oh, let them have their time in the spotlight

I mean the most famous thing about New Hampshire was a rock that looked like and old guy...and now its gone

I think there is something to be said for testing the candidates in a couple of small states first. The campaigning is done in a very face-to-face manner, not entirely through simple-minded TV ads, Nuremberg-sized rallies, and staged debates: although Iowa and New Hampshire have those, too, the later campaigns will have nothing else; forcing the candidates to engage people one-on-one in unscripted settings has some value.
My only beef is that it should not be the SAME small states every time. Next time let it be Wyoming and Rhode Island, or Delaware and South Dakota, or whatever, instead of Iowa and New Hampshire always.

They need to start having more primaries held on the same day, like Super Tuesday.

I think that would be a great step backwards. Then it would be entirely 30-second-ad blitzes and brief fly-throughs for staged rallies right from the beginning.

Better yet, let's have every state secede; then every county; then every city; then every neighborhood; then every street; then every household; then every person.
