Things you used to like.

Tastes change. Taste in food, in music and even in hobbies.

Case in point: About a week ago, I tried a can of SpaghettiOs and was astonished! I didn't know you could make pasta out of rat dung! Had it always been made out of rat dung? As a child, I used to love em. Did I have an affinity for rat dung pasta that faded as the years went past?

Another example is the movie, 'Karate Kid 2'. That was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. For a brief time, I considered it to be the best movie ever. Recently, I watched it and was astonished! I didn't know you could make a script out of rat dung! :p

So, what did you used to like as a youngster that you have since grown to discover it was made of rat dung?

I used to think doctors could tell what was wrong with you just by looking at you, no questions, no background history, just brilliant observation and magical ability to heal things.
Well I know that's just plain wrong now.
I once heard that, a doctor signed a patient as deceased, when it should have been departed as the patient had left the hospital.
Oh and is it true that to legally declare someone dead you have to have a doctor say it is so?

There was this one show... the adventures of The Mighty Hercules (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAMm7XwdD_M) I used to watch. I tried to watch it again and I was astonished to find my dad was right. He told me when I was a child that it was horrible... No kidding. The sad thing is it's from the 1960s and it was still be shown when I was a kid.

Do NOT click the link if you've got a low tolerance for utter crap.

Chiun: It would be better for you to eat this can than what is inside of it. Why must everything in this country be coated with monositi-... monosoti...
Remo Williams: Monosodium glutamate. You can't even say it.
Chiun: I can say "rat droppings." That does not mean I want to eat them.

I can't stand bananas anymore, it's really sad.

Also, I tried to watch Beavis and Butthead a few weeks back.....it's not as funny when you aren't high I think.....I seriously wonder how high I was back then because I used to think it was the best thing ever..growing up sucks.

I think I ODed on that once. ;) One summer vacation I was at my Nana's for two weeks and had at least two bowls every day (sometimes even at breakfast! cue Bill Cosby).

The next year I went out there she'd bought a bunch and I tried it and couldn't stand it. :(

I used to like the music of John Rutter.

I know, I know, the shame is terrible....

Actually, the same is true of Spice Girls, I mean, I was quite young at the time of their height, which may make it marginally acceptable, but I still can't help think through all the words when some of the songs come on the radio...

I can't really think of any food or other things that I've decided were made of rat dung recently. Instead, I've found many foods that I thought would taste like rat dung, until I actually tried them.

For example, I originally preferred Not Squid until I went to a Thai restaurant and ordered a squid dish just to be adventurous. Turns out that Not Squid tastes like rat dung, while Squid is much better.

The German language. From being quite good at it (in school terms) without trying, it's now turned into an uphill struggle of grammatical horror. Blech.

... I've been thinking about it.

there's nothing I used to like that I now hate or even dislike. of course most of the things, like old cartoons and tv shows, foods, toys and even activites I like but now in a different way.

sure that Hercules cartoon was cheesy (anyone here remember Clutch Cargo?) but I like it because of the memories it stirs and the nostalgic feeling I get.

Sure I won't be "into" it like I was before, but I still 'like' it because I had fun watching it and it reconnects me with a time that I can never go back to.
