DENVER -- An inmate who twice escaped from the Pueblo County jail filed a federal lawsuit Thursday, alleging that guards abused him and didn't do enough to stop him from breaking out.
Scott Anthony Gomez, Jr. alleges that guards have sprayed him with pepper spray, shot him with a stun gun, and beaten and kicked him without provocation. He also claims that employees of the Pueblo County sheriff's department got other inmates to assault him.
The suit in U.S. District Court in Denver was filed against Pueblo County, former sheriff Dan Corsentino, current sheriff Kirk Taylor, six guards and their supervisors. A sheriff's spokeswoman didn't immediately respond to a message left afterhours and there was no listed telephone number for Corsentino, who left office last January.

And this is related to the topic how? That's right, it isn't. If you want to suggest that Abu Ghriab is a model prison or something then make your own thread.
On topic, how do you sue a prison for not preventing your escape?
Woot, Cut'n'paste spam :)

I was referring to Gitmo. How nice of you to read into something and make an argument off of assumptions. I was asking where did he get his info for making accusations against Gitmo? I was not saying anything toward Abu Ghraib, I think we can all agree that was messed up and inexcusable...

I think he was suing more for the abuse

...are you actually suggesting to me that gitmo is some happy camp or something?
From my reading he's not so much suing because "they let him escape" but rather he is suing for injuries sustained during his escape which would not have occured had he been prevented from escaping.
Which is less, but only very slightly less, silly than suing "for letting him escape"

Hey you cut and paste twice!
The first time well everyone makes some sort of mistake with threads, but the same one twice?
What happened to commenting on it.

Yeah, that's right up there with the oh so famous cases where people get sued by the guys who broke into their house and injured themselves in doing so.

...are you actually suggesting to me that gitmo is some happy camp or something? No. And to imply so would be insane. Why would I even WANT it to be a "happy camp." It is a place meant for enemy combatants. Most of whom seem to be unlawful combatants. I think this (http://writ.news.findlaw.com/dorf/20020123.html) defines my feelings on them. But how about we get back on topic and stop the misinterpretations, huh?
