So last night I was watching the History Channel and they had another program that has to do with World War II (surprise surprise :rolleyes: ). Except this time, it's about people who predicted World War I and II, and the events during those two Wars. Of course it couldn't talk about this without speculation on what happened to Hitler when he was hiding in the bunker with his wife Ava Braun. So, what did happen to Hitler? Did he commit suicide with his wife, if so who found the body and what did they do with it? Also, if they didn't commit suicide, then what did they do, and where are they now if they are still alive?

His skull is in some Russian archive, I believe. Stalin used his decapitated skeleton as a hat rack. Poor Hitler. :(

It's common knowledge that they saved his brain. :p

I was also watching the History Channel a couple months back, and they had an interview with a man who was apparently a telephone operator in the bunker when Hitler shot himself. Dunno what happened with the bodies, though if I recall correctly they were still there when he left the bunker a couple hours later.

According to his staff (many of whom survived, most notably his secretary, Traudl Junge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traudl_Junge) and his Adjutant Heinz Linge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinz_Linge)), the bodies were burned just outside the bunker right after both had taken cyanide capsules. Hitler apparently also shot himself in the head, to be on the safe side.
The ashes were later dumped in the Elbe.

Considering that Goebbels and his entire family (wife and 5 kids) were in the bunker at the time, and that Martha Goebbels went on to poison her 5 children and commit suicide herself with her husband soon afterwards, I've got very little doubt that Hitler was dead at that time. I can't see the woman acting as she did if she had a shred of hope left that the Fuehere might still be alive.

whatever, if any, controversy there may be, surrounding positive identification of the remains, it might be worth considering that had he survived, he would now be of an age, that he would almost certainly have died of old age, long since.

After Hitler's body, and that of his mistress Eva Braun were taken from the bunker, they were dumped in a ditch, and burned. The remains (bones) were taken back to Moscow, and have been there ever since.

He was I.D'ed by dental records.

He's long dead.

hitler shot his wife and himself. then, the other important nazis found him and took him outside to burn him. a good source of info is the world at war series.

Having seen the interviews in "Hitler's Helfer" by all the people who were there and are still alive (or were at the time the series was made), I can assure you that's incorrect.

Hitler is alive and running a dry cleaning business in Scottsdale, AZ. He's moderately successful, has a new wife, four children, and has effectively renounced his Nazi beliefs, instead deciding he hates everyone more or less equally. He has also grown a full beard and done away with his ridiculous hairdo, opting to wear it very short and show his bald spot.

What I can't figure out is how he's lived to be 117.

I've got no idea what happened to Hilter.

I know he shot himself in the head, although Im not sure what anyone did with his body or what ever happened to his wife.
