Dead Pool 2008
Marrakech II

Most of you know how to play but here is the basics of the game. Pick two people that are known to most that you think are going to die in 2008. You can pick sports stars, Actors, politicians, musicians, business leaders, public figures etc. Basically just about anyone that most people would know who they were. At the start of 2009 we can look over the thread and see who won. The prize is $50 that I will send via paypal to the winner. The rule is that you cannot pick someone that has already been picked by someone else. Also if there are multiple winners it will go by when their first pick died. If by chance their first picks died on the same day then we will do our best to get it down to time of day. The earliest death beats out someone later. Get it?
So who do you think is going to kick the bucket this year?
My two picks are: Owen Wilson(Actor) and Amy Winehouse (musician)
Why did you pick Owen Wilson? He seems to be fine now.
I pick Bob Barker (shock!) and Jimmy Carter
Edna parker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edna_Parker) (oldest living woman)
Tomoji Tanabe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomoji_Tanabe) (oldest living man)
Go Isidoor's dream team, GO! :D

He already tried suicide once. He also doesn't strike me as a quitter. So he may make another go of it.

I predict with a much much higher level of probability then my choices of who dies that a certain poster quits NS just days prior to the start of 2009 ;)

Just to make things interesting. If I am right about both, the awarder will not be able to give the prize. At the same time, the award recipient will not be in a position to receive it, so everything should work out.

Yeah those will work. But remember if someone else has both die but one of theirs died before both of yours then you do not win. So not a bad choice however the timing may be off.

So you are taking both of Britney's kids? Think about it, they could OD if they get into Britney's coke stash. May not be a bad pick.

Simply wondered if the choices met the "most people would know", criteria. If you're happy, then cool. :D

Well I think the litnus test is if the person can be pulled up on the net easily and if it is going to be reported most likely in the news. The oldest people in the world would probably be reported.

I misinterpreted the thread title to mean people who will DIE in 2008. I was going to type Heath Ledger and Eartha Kitt.
Now that my head's out of my ass, I'll go with:
Donald Rumsfeld and Betty White.
