You just can't make up news like this...
Seven hurt in punch-up at Church of the Nativity (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/middle_east/article3104350.ece)
The cradle of Christianity was rocked by an unholy punch-up when Greek Orthodox and Armenian priests came to blows in a dispute over how to clean Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity.
The ancient place of worship, built over the site where Jesus Christ is said to have been born in a stable more than 2,000 years ago, is shared by various branches of Christianity, each of which controls and jealously guards a part of the holy site.
The brawl apparently began when Greek Orthodox priests set up ladders to clean the walls and ceilings of their part of the church after the Christmas Day celebrations.
When I read this, I couldn't help but to laugh. It's just so ridiculous. It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. They're fighting over clean-up methods... Could they look any sillier if they tried?

Saw this earlier today; the pictures are hilarious/idiotic.
I can't see little Baby Jesus being too pleased over this turn of events.

Simple solution to this...
Tear the place down, then they won't be able to fight over how to clean.

Not quite...

Armenian priests claimed that the ladders encroached on their portion of the church, which led the two sects to exchange angry words which quickly turned to blows.
sad... :(
I think thats the place where they've managed to drive the Ethiopian orthodox lads out to a small part of the roof....Some other bunch occassionally throw stones at them from the bit of the roof they control. For Baby Jesus of course.....

By thread I meant thread, as opposed to quote on quote of +2 Reflex save on Unarmed attack. But I do admit that claim was rather naive;)

They should rename the Church of the Nativity to 'Thunderdome'. :)
Or in the future, fight with pies. Jesus loves a good pie fight. *nod*

Some Russians picked a fight with some Frenchmen over the French placing nationalist symbols in the Shrine of the Nativity at a time when Russia, France and the Ottoman Empire were involved in a rather complex debate over who got to protect Christians in the Holy Land.
It was one of many triggering factors for the start of the Crimean War, IE: One of histories bloodiest and most pointless wars.

Oh I realise there's more, but that's the part that stuck out the most. The most trivial part of it all. :)

I'm surprised nobody actually mentioned the most obvious quote for this incident.
"I Kick Ass For The Lord!!"
Christians havn't looked so silly since the crusades!

SaintB, I'm afraid that the Christians didn't look silly when they undertook the Crusades. It was a rather bloody event, not a Monty Python's Flying Circus sketch.
