Iowa Caucus

As an expatriate, I vote in the district of my official US residence - where my folks live. I'm currently on vacation here with my folks in Iowa and will be participating in the Iowa caucus. (For the non-US and not-up-to-speed US types, this is one of the first official steps in deciding the presidential candidates for 2008.)

I'm officially undecided, although I do have some ideas, which I'll keep under my hat for now (although I 'spect some of ya'll might know which ways I'm leaning...).

So, if you were in my shoes, who would you caucus for and why?

(No poll - to many choices...)

... research each candidate... list those that you WANT to see as President (as opposed to those who you think stands to win.)

then roll the appropriate dice.

if you got 2 candidates, then flip a coin
if you got 3 candidates, then roll a 6 sider (1-2 candidate 1, 3-4 Candidate 2, 5-6 candidate 3)

What if he doesn't really want any of them to be President?

I rather dislike caucusing.

Voting, before I vote?

No, thanks.

Besides, there isnt a single good candidate to vote for on either side.
I'll just wait and decide between Hilary, and Rudy, and take the lesser of two evils. ( a principle wich should NEVER apply in a fucking election of this order).

Not strictly true, I'd say.

But - those who are most likable, have, like, zero percent chance of the presidency.

I've got a pretty good idea of who's caucus I'll end up in, but I'm going in open to listening to other pitches. :)

Anywho, I'm not asking who I should caucus for, but who you would. ;)

Screw caucuses. There should be one day where everyone votes in there state primary, like say April. That way, its six months out. We know who the candidates will be for both parties and then we all vote again in November to see who will be the next president. That's the way it should be. Screw caucuses.

Should be?

That's kind of beside the point, isn't it? If we're creating 'should be' scenarios, the US model is hardly ideal... and caucuses aren't exactly the worst of it....
