Seeing as it's Christmas, and I've completely ruined my mother's mental stability, I thought I'd do something nice for her..

I've already promised her a calendar with my photos, but she wants to pick them this year, so I left her a pirate like treasure map out in the living room that leads to my computer, where she will find the browser open to my gallery on dA with various photos that I've taken over the last year.

But until she goes through them all, and then some, I thought it'd be nice to give her something I can make up in the next hour (before I lose all brain cells to alcohol).

What should I make her? A CD with songs from a band I've just fallen in love with (The Weepies)? A Christmas type CD? A craftyesque gift? What?

Please be aware, I've never liked the idea of giving a single gift.. And I like giving ridiculously irreverent [and] impractical gifts.

She'll be up in about 4 hours, and I'll be passing out in about 2. What do you think I should do?

I think you should admit that god hates you but NS loves you and the way to reconcile the two is to have your mom get on and post as you to see the responses she gets.

Hey, some of us like to live on the edge. Personally, I won't start my Christmas shopping until Boxing Day. I find that giving gifts in lieu is not only an excellent way of putting off my duties to the point of insanity, but it also prolongs the Christmas experience for those lucky people!

Actually I'll probably get drunk and forget, but it's the thought that counts.

The best thing to do is to shove her in the car and take her shopping. Women love shopping. Especially when they don't have to regret every penny of what they are buying.

That's what me and mum do. We grab each other's hand (figuratively) and go shopping together and each buys the other whatever they fancy. (on the plus side, it's also about the only time I'd willingly go shopping with her, so she appreciates it)

Whatever you do, do not, repeat do not, burn her a cd with songs from your favorite group.

If you really want to do something nice for her -
- don't pass out.
- wash the dishes.
- make her a cup of coffee (breakfast is probably beyond your capabilities, but letting her sit a few minutes with coffee she hasn't made and some lovely silence ... )
- clean something.
