If You Could, Would You?
In most relgions, that I know about people believe that everything that happens was caused by their god(s). So meaning if you broke your leg, some people belive God made it happen. So if you could some how, would you sue your god or gods or if you have a bunch of gods any specific ones?
It's been done (http://www.google.ie/search?q=suing+god&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a)
Lots of people sue god...usually trying to make some sort of statement...would be fun to see god try and defend his behaviour.
Yeah but most of those people are trying to just get their 15 minutes of fame.

Hmmm, well there is not a single problem humans have that is not of their own design/making and gotten by free will. So ,yeah God would enjoy going to court to have a frivolous lawsuit dismissed. In a lot of places they would have to pay for God's court costs.

Being born with a genetic defect ?
Being the victim of a natural disaster ?
Just two that popped into my head ;)
God doesn't make every little individual event happen.
some people believe he does, and even if he doesn't he does the major things like death, and diseases.
Eh~ I don't think so. After years of creating societies and people in my own head, I'd like to think I know how god feels and if I ever got a chance to sit down with him/her/it, the sentiment would pretty much be "no hard feelings" for anything in my life.
If I ever had a sit down with God I'd piss my pants.

The first could be a result of millions of years of, shall we say, counter-evolution, such that it's not the individual's fault, but it is the species' fault.
The second could be a result of man-made pollution or global warming, depending on whom you ask.

Keyword being "could" ;)
Another one: a natural miscarriage. Women are "designed" to have those often after all - and we have quite a vocal group yelling abortion is murder.

Being born with a genetic defect
Does stupidity count as a genetic defect? Because i have friends that could make millions

If that was true everyone could make millions.
I'd sue Dionysos and Pan for not sticking around...we could all use some Greek debauchery.

no. I would think and reflect upon my misfortune (whatever it be) and see what the outcome of said misfortune.

In Hinduism, everything that happens to you is your fault because of the Law of Karma (what goes around comes around). You can break the wheel of Karma through devotion, learning, and/or good deeds (with any rewards symbolically sacrificed to God). Then, you will not be affected by anything and neither good nor bad will happen to you.
It is deemed necessary to break the wheel of Karma before one can merge into Shiva.

No. Mainly because I'm not a litigious person by nature.
When I was in the Marines, I used to spend way too much time sitting in church, attending memorials for dead friends of mine. Typically, they'd have ploughed a perfectly good airplane into a mountain, ocean, field, etc. These were always sad affairs, accompanied by plenty of crying from the deceased's survivors.
The best line I ever heard from a chaplain in all that time was "God has a lot of explaining to do." He was right.
my god is something big friendly and invisible that gives good hugs but leaves the kind of world we all have to live in, and pretty much whatever happens in it, entirely up to us.
i think if it came to the kind of situations positied, it need only be point out the sequences of causal events and how they were all percipitated by human/TANGABLe sentient choices or indefferences, that no diety had taken an active hand in them nor choosen to, and that those who scapegoated dieties or presumed dieties for the natural cosiquences of their ignorance and indefference were friggin loonies.

No, but if you insurance company refuses to cover what they call "acts of God," you should be allowed to sue them for rebates if a Church provides you with a letter indicating that you are a parishiner (or eqivalent) in good standing.
And if they drop you because you "have bad luck" then they have to give other clients discounts for owning lucky rabbit's feet.

And due to the non-localized nature of the soul, you may be paying in this life for the sins you commited in the next. So sin all you want in this one. You may very well have already paid the price.

Of course God has the best defense lawyer in the Universe. Himself. And if the trial doesn't go his way because the jury is stupid, he can always appeal to the highest court available. Himself.
But really... What jury would find against him after he made them sit through your own personal "It's a Wonderful Life." And if that didn't do it, he could threaten a motion to make them sit through it again.

Then again - he personally trained Satan to be a prosecutor.
