Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to NSG! May you all not be lame enough to be here to read this on the day itself!
Sitting here in the wonderful timezone of GMT+13 (New Zealand Summer time) it has just rocked past midnight on the 25th of December, so to pre-empt all the people who planed on making a 'Merry Christmas' thread, here we are.
So what do all you kids have planned? I'm doing the standard family dinner thing.
Apparently there are people in some places who get 'offended' because calling it 'christmas' is offensive to non-christians. I really, really don't care, and I'm not christian. Go away.
I guess the 'happy holidays' thread kind of beat me. meh

Sleep, play with ferrets, annoy the neighbors with band practice, perhaps some internetz, watch the new Predator/Alien movie, maybe some sex, blasphemy ... not necessarily in that order but also not exclusive and independent of each other.
Typical, to be sure.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
This year I am spending it with my fiance and his family -- so yes, dinner, and presents, and everything.

Spending time with the family, getting horrendously FAT.
Just in time for the New Year's resolution to take it all off!

Well, there you went and disproved the premise of the thread in moderation :p
Joyeux Noël!
Thank you, and Feliz Navidad! ;)
(You should know by now, Laerod, I spend a fair amount of time in General... but some of my fellow mods might not have seen it.)

As an agnostic, I used to say "Merry Whatever!" and mean it.
Now?
I'm too tired of both PCs (political correctness + persection complex) to ever say anything other than what I was raised to say:
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Because no matter what you believe, wishing someone peace and happiness is never offensive.
Merry Christmas!
I plan on sleeping in and just being generally lazy.
however, I plan this every year...
so I'll probably be dragged off to various parties and be awake from 3:00 am to whenever...

I will be travailing between quite a few houses when Santa gets in my timezone getting unbelievably merry before coming home for "family time" (which means it will be bearable maybe)
I will also play with my lego as is the tradition

peace and happiness on Christmas?
Just in time for the New Year's resolution to take it all off!

Merry Christmas!
My whole family is coming to my house. God help me. (FYI, I'm the one whose mom broke her arm, so I've been "cheerfully" living her life along with mine.)

Merry Zodmas, slaves of planet Houston!
And don't forget to kneel before me, your rightful leader, Zod, during this "holiday" season! :D

In a similar vein... anyone who is militant about their yuletide greetings (especially using it as a springboard for condemnation, preaching, and 'reason for the season' carp) deserves a "Happy Imaginary Baby Day".
On the other hand, if we're all gonna act like adults, and exchange pleasantries because we're just being genuinely nice to one-another? Merry Christmas, happy Holidys, or whatever works. :)

I guess I'm a lamo. I just drove 70 miles from my in-laws to my parents and wanted a cup of tea before I turn in. I'm here in lieu of watching TV which might wake everyone else up, but it's now 15 minutes past midnight, into the holiday itself.
But I still consider the Christmas so far a Merry one and may you all have so much family love (literal or otherwise) to share it with.

I say Happy Holidays, and if I get any grief I apologetically say, "fine Merry Cristmas, and I hope your New Years is a spirit-crushing let-down."

You know I read that five or six times looking for the bitterness and resentment appropriate to the statement. Then I figured you probably meant that she broker her own arm, not yours, and it made a lot more sense.

Argh. Stupid grammar. It's less than half an hour before Christmas. I'm not fixing it. Sorry. :p
