Lurkers come forth!
I have noticed that a lot of you have been coming out from under your rocks lately. Perhaps it is because you have more time now to post since its the holidays, or maybe its because the apocalypse is nigh. Either way, you are posting more than normal, and it has me scared. Why? Because I know nothing about you! So please, lurkers of NSG come forward, and tell us about yourselves. Perhaps tell us about your job, or family. Maybe even give us your bank account and social security number. :p Anyways, this is a thread for all the NSGers to get to know all you creepy lurky people out there :)

Is this some kind of "Lurkers come forth and face the wrath of Chaos!" kind of thread? Because that's what it looks like!
I wouldn't call myself a lurker though. First, I just have several nations and I post rather randomly with one (here in General that is). Second, I don't read this part of the forum enough to constitute "lurking". Third, when I do, I usually post something stupid, which completely nullifies the lurker status on meh.
So there!

Hello. My name is Lord Grey II, and I'm a lurker.
Now that that's over with, I've lurked around NSG for years. I post only every once in a while (with the glaring exception of when FreedomAndGlory got me into a heated troll-roast). I've acted as LG's prodigal son from the future, and was the subject of a sig for a fairly notable person who has since stopped posting in NSG with any frequency. (Czart-something. Never could get his name right. Funny guy though)
As to non-NSG things about myself, I'm working towards a masters in physics, I'm straight, I don't currently have a girlfriend, I'm not listening to any music right now (nor am I usually), I'm currently re-reading: the Blue Adept series by Piers Anthony, my Magic: the Gathering novel collection, and Snow Crash by Neil Stevenson (at the same time, basically), I'm spending Christmas with the extended family (and when I mean extended, I really mean it. No, really. Don't be surprised when I show up at your doorstep.), and I'm an atheist, as may be evidenced by my sig. Oh, and I don't have any political affiliations, and I'm considered by many a misthantropist and a bad speller.
I think that covers a lot of the threads that get repeated a lot. Now what?

I can't decide whether I count as a lurker. I have a post count of a touch under 900, and in the given time frame of my existence it's not TOO few. Then again, I tend to be on here for at least half an hour, often more, 6 days a week. That's an awful lot, for only 800 posts in 2 years or so. I wonder if there is some foolproof formula for detecting Lurkitis?
Anyhoo, I is 17, about to start my final year at high school, heavily into politics of every kind, a moderate leftist, I phase between philosophical Christian and unconvinced atheist on a regular basis, I'm straight, at this stage in a relationship, and I miss Czardas.

You're looking at it the wrong way! Lurkers are lurkers because they are scared of the amount of spam in the area, so they don't dare to post because they'd get all spammed and stuff. The more spam you generate, the more scared they are and thus the less likely they are to post anything!
So if folks were all quiet-like at first and jumped on the lurkers when they finally dare to post...!

Well greetings to all regulars. Yes, I am a lurker. This is my second nation, but I didn't really post much with my first since I've started NS a year ago. I guess It's true what they say: you can't quite leave NS - it is the true Hotel California.
As for myself, I am 18, currently on a gap year, will most likely be studying Philosophy and Politics at Bristol next year (I have an unconditional but I am admitting I might take the fancy of Exeter instead), I live in England and have been for a few years, though I'm originally eastern European.
I'm straight (at least as far as experience goes), currently single and not exactly looking, blissfully unemployed, and I fill my time with NS (thus the recent surge in posts) and learning French (my 4th language - if my flimsy knowledge of German actually qualifies).
What else? (damn this feels like filling in a date services form:headbang:):
Nihilist (ergo weak Atheist), did I mention male?, politically a misfortunate combination of liberal (in the minarchist and social freedom sense) and socialist (in the progressive taxation and reducing the rich poor divide / economic sense) with strongest concerns being the equality of opportunity and education (which I believe should be completely free even at multiple postgrad level, but a lot more competitive).

The less-than-unique facility of the Internet for constructing exclusionist subcultures from tiny populations scares me. Especially when you can take a population as diverse and mutually-at-odds as NS General, and turn it into a single unit placed in radical opposition to the International Incidents and United Nations forums on the same website to say nothing of Randall Munroe's entire map of the internet.

I don't think I'm making any sense here.
For the record I've never seen the attraction in talking about sex on the internet. I've never felt any particular desire to discuss exactly why I prefer this position to that one, or how long a typical "evening" at "my place" lasts, or even flirt shamelessly with people I've never met. Then again, I am uncharacteristically weird and shunned equally here as in real life so you can pretend I didn't say anything.

I'm not a lurker! I just post when I have something relevant to say. Something that contributes to the discussion. And the discussion must be interesting to me. And I have to be in right mood. And have enough time, because posting on a forum is serious commitment.
So, that's why I post... wait wait... about once in three days, on average.

I like being an Amodist.
Anyhoo, I tend to lurk here a day or two, then not look at anything for a fortnight.
But what if you're wrong? If I'm wrong, I just leave the forum someday. If you are wrong, you will suffer YouTube comments for all eternity! You should believe in Mod, because the consequences for not believing and being wrong just aren't worth the risk.

I guess I'm a lurker. Not really by choice, I just generally don't have much to add to the conversation that's worth the effort of typing up. Mostly because I don't stumble on these threads until they're approximately fourteen years old.
I'm female (I know, I checked). Twenty five (years, four months, eleven days, fourteen hours, forty one minutes). Married (to a man who is one year and eleven days older than me). I have a daughter (who is one year, six months, two days, two hours, two minutes). I bet you think I'm an accountant. Oh, if only. I do advertising for an estate agent. I stay home a lot. I read (or at least I know how to). I write. I daydream about getting rich. I have tattoos. When I'm home and it's just the baby and I, I'll cook up an artichoke, or steam some asparagus, or slice up an avocado, or in general eat foods that start with the letter "a", with the noted exception of apples.
Oklahoma!
Smunkee might be happy to have another Oklahoman here.
Oh, and ewwww policemen! :p
Who's Smunkee and why does that sound like an activity one does alone in private and is ashamed to have anyone know that they do? :D

Hi. My name is Grave, and I am a lurker.

If I were, or am, a lurker would I know or would someone need to tell me...?
