LOST: Your predictions for Season 4?

Now that we've seen the Season 4 trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ou7cWOTXJs), and that there's only about a month and a half to go... time for wild predictions! :p

What do YOU think will happen in Season 4? If you want to post spoilers, please use spoiler tags. Please be aware that this thread will NOT be using spoiler tags for Season 3 events.

Season 4 will only have 8 episodes, so what will those episodes be? My guess (and I expect to be utterly wrong) is that episode 1 will focus on the survivors on the beach, more so than those at the radio tower. This will be for delaying purposes, so that we don't immediately find out much about the "rescuers". So episode one would be centred on one of the main characters on the beach: Sawyer, Juliet, Sayid, Jin, Hurley or Desmond. I think they'll keep Desmond for later, and they'll keep Sayid and/or Sawyer for when the fighting with the "rescuers" starts. So, one of the other three. Just because I like the idea of the season starting with a Hurley-centric episode, I'll guess Hurley.

We know that there'll be a Danielle episode, and since Michael is returning, we may well have an episode about him too. So who will get flashbacks in the other five episodes?

My guesses:
* There'll be two flash-forward episodes, about any two of these four characters: Desmond, Claire, Kate, Jack. I think there will be a Desmond episode, but it'll be a flashback which will involve Libby. So, there'll be one flash-forward episode centred on Claire, and one centred on Jack, in which Kate appears.
* If there's a Jin episode, Jin will die. I think this is entirely possible.
* There will be a Ben episode (with a flashback revealing something about the purpose of the Others)

So I think the following characters will get flashbacks:

4.01 Hurley
4.02 Desmond
4.03 Jin (dies)
4.04 Jack (flash-forward)
4.05 Ben
4.06 [female character mentioned in spoiler above]
4.07 [male character mentioned in spoiler above]
4.08 Claire (flash-forward)

If it plays out in that way, it would be a tightly packed eight episodes. Now I can look forward to seeing how completely wrong I am. :p

Oh, and we all know at least one major character has to die in each season. Here's my predicted list of "most likely" to "least likely". It excludes Jack and Kate, since we know (from Season 3) that they get off the island.

My guess is that Jin will die. Which would make me very unhappy because he's one of my favourite characters. Of course, it could also be any of the other characters whose background stories seem to have "run out", including Sawyer and Locke. If Sayid dies, I think he'll have at least one more flashback episode first.

1. Jin
2. Sayid
3. Locke
4. Sawyer
5. Ben
6. Juliet
7. [male character mentioned in spoiler above]
8. [female character mentioned in spoiler above]
9. Desmond
11. Sun
12. Claire

I would be astonished if Claire died, very surprised if Sun died, and mildly surprised if Desmond did. Any of the others wouldn't be particularly surprisining.

It's been too long since seeing the last season that I can't remember what I was thinking would happen. I just remember thinking that I'd be surprised and disappointed if Desmond died.

My predictions: It will suck a little less, and I will care a little more. But I'm not convinced...

*Yawns*

Worst thing is, I want to like it, but they've lost something along the way. And they ignore too much about the things that made it interesting in season one.

I do agree that Season 1 was the best. But they had to make the following seasons different, to sustain viewer interest.

By the way, is this Charlie?

It's from the slowed down trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbHkQJ0SD1g&feature=related), at 3:09. Presumably Hurley is hallucinating...

I predict that it will still be infinitely worse then its rival, Heroes.;)

I foresee rain. And plague. A rain of plagues! And boats and shaved kittens and cakes of cheese with biscuit bases and a hint of vanilla. There will be dialogue and explosions and some kind wind that blows trees. Indeed, will many things come to pass.

But that's one of my problems with the show, I'll illustrate it thusly:

Writers: "We have a great show for you people."
Audience: "Yes! We love it! Fantastic!"
The Studio: "They like it. That means money. Make more episodes."
Writers: "But we had only planned... Um... Ok. More episodes. So, if we take what they like, and make it different?"
Me:

I wish it hadn't become so popular and so highly praised. I liked it for what it was, and I would have liked to see the original storyline work out - not the watered-down version we're served. In short, in their effort to sustain viewer interest, they've lost mine...

Why do people spend time worrying about what will happen in stupid fricking show? Can't you just wait until it airs on TV? Jeez......

I think you're being unkind. It very much looks as if the story has been thought up since the start. Hence clues from the early episodes all coming together in answers in recent episodes.

I didn't watch the other seasons, I heard they were somewhat entertaining but it just kept on going without an end in sight and that it was obvious that the writers were struggling to keep it as entertaining as it was but kind of failed and made the plot so thick they'll probably need a deus ex machina to solve it.

In short my predictions are that the writers strike will last for ever and they will just have to re-air season two, but backwards. I estimate they will only lose 15% of their viewers this way (the ones that aren't brain dead yet) and the other 85% will make them rich(er).

Considering that most films and most TV series these days are utter and complete rubbish, Lost is a welcome change. I realise some people here seem to find it too taxing on their mental faculties, but I actually enjoy a little stimulation of my imagination. As opposed to just being a passive viewer and switching my mind off.

Not that I'm saying Lost is in any way intellectual, or more interesting than a good book. But it's much better than almost any other series on TV.

my attention span slipped in season 3 but I certainly hope Locke dies because that character turned me off the whole series along with Sayid

Chumbly's predictions:

It'll lose viewers by the boat-load, still be unnecessarily confusing, devoid of any real plot, and be even shittier than Heroes.

Which is saying something.

I liked Locke and Sayid in Season 1. Then they both turned all psycho.

I think you and I haven't been watching Lost in the same way.

By which I mean: I see you haven't been paying much attention.

I predict that virtually nothing will happen. Again. Also, that I will continue to not watch it. Again. Finally, that Heroes will crap all over it as a series, even with its weak beginnings to series. Again.

Oh I don't doubt that they have one (or more) stories that they wish to see from start to finish. That doesn't change the fact that they've added filler episodes to pad the show, completely uninteresting filler episodes in my mind, which has only served to make the show become somewhat tedious at times.

Judging solely from this trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ou7cWOTXJs), here is what will happen...

The boat ("not Penny's boat") is the DHARMA initiative. They're back, and they're pissed off. Basically they're going to engage in all out warfare with the Others in order to take back the Island. That'll probably be an ongoing storyline over the remaining series, in which time the activities of each side in the Battle of the Island (hencefore referred to as BOTI...ahem) will make the rest of the world aware of the Island's presence, and they'll come and rescue any remaining survivors from flight 815 who still want to leave.

Fact.
