New Cloverfield Trailer
Cloverfield:New Trailer (http://www.virginmedia.com/movies/movieextras/specials/cloverfield-five-minute-clip.php)
There is a new five minuteclip from the upcomingmovie of Cloverfield. This has just made me want to see the movie even more.
Really? Because it did the opposite for me. It looks like your bog-standard "evil invading thing is fought" only shot from an unusual perspective.
I have faith in J.J Abrams to provide a decent movie. He has a pretty good track record.

If you can call things like Mission Impossible III good movies, yeah, sure...

Never seen that but I'm with more like things such as Lost (mostly the first season here) and Armageddon wasn't bad. He does have some talent but then again we can only truly judge this movie when we have seen it. If it turns out to be crap then I'll put my hands up. Hopefully it should be good.

He had his hands on Armageddon? No wonder it was so poor. He apparently has no idea how science actually works. About the only thing he got right was the oil drillers lingo...

It's either Gamera or Ghiddora!
...or possibly... GoBots!

whenever I hear someone ask if it was a terrorist attack I have the urge to kill
It's gonna suck. Monster movies always do. Unless this is secretly a comedy the film won't be salvagable.

considering the next Star Trek movie will be made by this guy, you might want to invest in some rope come next Christmas :p
when was the last time major blockbusters didn't suck? When you say Major Blockbuster, you mean "not good" right?

I've already resigned myself to it being a horrible travesty.

one one about Kirk and Spock in the academy?
not planning on seeing it since it's probably their attempt to tie in Enterprise to TOS.
*Makes bets that there will be references to Capt. Archer and his crew (if not Archer being in the movie as an instructor or something) in this movie.*

Blairzilla seems to be a fairly common conclusion. That was my first instinct, also. Maybe it'll be good. I'm not holding out much hope, and I have to admit, there's currently nothing pushing me to see it on it's cinematic release.

Mysterious unseen humanoid in dark woods = okay....not ludicrous
Mysterious unseen 2-x hundred feet tall giant monster who isn't invisible in a city of millions = Would you ever fuck off......
Thats of course if they do it for the whole movie. It would seem to be the kind of thing that would get frustrating after a short time..

Godzilla vs Mothra is for me the only monster movie worth seeing if you havnt before...a true kitsch classic ;)

QFT.
This seems a bit like War of the Worlds, although it's probably just the generic monster-arrives-in-city scene. I'm not all that excited.
The title of the movie seems... out of place. As does the apparent space between 'some' and 'thing' on the trailer. For some reason, that irritates me.
