happy midwinter's eve!
this is for everyone who sees the end of december as neither a satinallia of western monothiestic fanatacism nor a corporate retail feeding frenzey. or wish to. and not that we wish other then happiness and gratifying life to anyone else either.
tommarow IS THE day. at least that's what we're doing at our house.
feel free to mention how each of you that are, will be celibrating it.
we're having a small family feast here. with a few friends over.
pretty blinking colored lights, and the opening of presents.

Given that it's summer here, we'll be waiting until the 25th for the presents, big meal, family, etc.

Mid-winter?
Pfft.
Not where I live.
More like, just barely begun.

It is interesting these hotly argued differences of Christmas, Xmas and other names as meaning something (in English). Tell us people - how these Christmas are called in your language and does it actually has any relation to the meaning of Christmas. In my (Latvian) language these festivities are called Ziemassvetki (directly translated in English as "Winter celebrations").
We will be having many small feasts in next few days. With families, friends. With main focus on specific Christmas dishes.
