Who is your favorite main character of the Final Fantasy series?

Mine is either Cecil Harvey of Final Fantasy IV or Terra Branford of Final Fantasy VI.

Oh, and there's a poll coming.

I liked the dorky guy with the tail in FF9 (Western numbering).

Kefka!

(If you must nitpick about protagonists,... Setzer (VI))

Protagonist, not antagonist. Otherwise, Kefka might get my vote, too (or, if not him, then Golbez). ;)

Ramza Beoulve-still my favorite, possibly due to how customizable he is

Bah. Edgar was cooler. A compassionate lech with a chainsaw as one of his special weapons? How can you go wrong?

Bah. Tactics Ogre >> FF Tactics

Final Fantasy VI doesn't have a single protagonist.

The main three are Terra, Locke and Celes.

Since Locke is my favourite protagonist ever, I can't vote in this poll.

I voted Cloud, simply because he was the most useless, and thus the one I could relate to most :D

Well for me it's because, racing in airships around the world > sand-locked submersible castle.

You just don't know what you're missing. Besides, I can hide comfortably in the sand. You can get shot down (and have).

Bah. Tactics Ogre >> FF Tactics

They're two different games, both having good and bad attributes.

As for my choice...well most characters have this horrible tendency to not be fleshed out at all...

I'd say Alma Beolve.

Bah, and while you're busy getting torn apart by flak, I'm comfortable in a hermetically sealed, nigh-impregnable fortress, sipping tea and chatting up the ladies.

(Because I refuse to believe that anyone would prefer a flying steamship over a sand fortress)

Squall - He was a miserable sod. I could connect with that.

Squall; really, how could you not find likable someone not only of actual intelligence, but a bitter loner as well? Were it not for his poor self-esteem (considering himself somewhat defective) and lingering naivety - the latter making him blind to the blatant, slimy manipulation of other characters eager to get him into a relationship - he'd make an excellent role model, I'd say.

4 people for monkey boy and no one for Tidus? Thats a surprise to me for some reason.

I personally would go for Squall myself.

He's just about the only male lead in FF games that wasn't some whining brooding bore. He also was conspicuously dopey over the female lead, instead of playing the idiotic oh-so-distant-loner angle that most of them do.

Basically, I like monkey boy because he didn't take himself too seriously, which every other male lead seems to do.

With notably exceptions to Locke, Edgar, Sabin, and Setzer...
