If you a jogger, please do not pollute this thread with your "good effort" nonsense, I want to have a conversation with some real runners like myself.

What is your MPW?

Are you doing track? How are you training for it?

I do it occasionally. By summertime though, I would like to get up to doing 10 mi/day. I used to do only like 5 or so a day, back when I was in high school, and a lot more fit. But alas, college has made me lazy and fattish. :(

God, I'm glad I'm not even a jogger, at least this way I didn't have to be insulted by clicking on a thread that talks about "runners" yet apparently only means, I don't know, professional long distance runners or something. The fuck?

So running a marathon doesn't qualify one as being a "runner"? Because all the people I know who've run one are joggers.

Besides the winter, I run 5 miles a day. I do most of it training for cross country.

take that as miles per week so I guess 4x7=...28 though I don't see the point in pushing myself past the 1.5 mark in a straight run really

I usually enjoy blocking out the sounds of the countryside with some funky junky tunes and despising everything (especially cold grrr) so its evolved into the only thing keeping me sane

I only run when someone angry is chasing me.
So, I'd say I average about 20 miles each week. Speaking of which, it looks like the guy who's laptop I'm using is coming back from the bathroom.
Catch y'all later.

Jesus, I leave my laptop for 5 minutes and Chris Crocker's using it again!

Damn he's a fast runner.

I run high school XC and track. Im not sure what "MPW" means, but my 5k pr (personal record) is 17:23 and my mile is 5:28, but im gonna get that below 5 this year, 5:10 definitely. I should be training for track, but im lazy. Ill probably start with 4 milers and work up to about 8 or 9 the week before track. During the XC season ill run idk like 60ish miles a week, 70 during the summer. I hate track. I absolutely hate it. XC is a real sport.

A gentleman will walk but never run. Besides, if you run, that doesn't bode well with the commissariat...

I don't anymore. No time. I used to run about 15 miles a day. I did it for fun, although one of my running-mates competed. I only ever 'competed' in charity events, like the Skegness-to-Boston crosscountry marathon.

See, you and I are the exact opposite, I only do XC because it can get me in killer shape for the 3000 and the 3200 for winter. I wish they had the 32 more often for indoor, but sadly, they do not .

I do about 70-80 in the summers for XC, but most of that is long runs, fartleks (tehe:p, I love that name) and tempo. The funny thing is that I probably will end up running the 5000 in college.

I intend to visit the gym everyday, and when I do I run about five miles or so on the treadmill - not the same as running outside, I know, but it's fudging freezing outside and I get enough of that on my bike to work and back every day, thank you very much. I used to run with the intentions of joining the Army, but now I just do it so that I can get away from chavs if/when they attack me. Not that I'm paranoid or anything.

Of course 'intending' and 'doing' are completely separate things, so it's more like three or four times a week.

True that. But I run track anyway.
