So, I went to that concert. Had a great time. Prevented a murder. Talked up Johan Haig's sister, who is a really nice person coincidentally. All in all, it was a good heavy metal experience...except for the guy nearly getting murdered and me having to fear for my life. That sucked...but it was cool, cause Amon Amarth had my back.

My questions are as follows. Do you like Amon Amarth? Have you ever been to their concert? And if not, what kind of wacky concert stories do you have to tell?

Somehow, I seriously doubt that. But I've never been to a concert.

I'll have you know that Vancouver has the staggering homocide rate of 2.6 (out of 100,000 people)! It's almost the murder capital of Canada! I mean...just compare that to 69.3 (out of 100,000) in Washington DC back in the late 90s! Or 19.1 in Philly! Vancouver is almost there I tell you...

I haven't been up on music for the last year or two, but this Amon Amarth business just sounds to me like generic hardcore, but with growled vocals and dressed-up drumming. At least the stuff on their myspace.

I was chatting with my friends in the lobby when I heard the distinctive sound of human skull coming into contact with the ground. I ran towards the sound of battle and saw a man hitting another person's head against the ground. A pool of blood was quickly forming and the attacker showed no signs of stopping.

No one did anything to prevent the bloodshed, so I acted. I through the villain off of the victim...and afterwards, him and his skinhead friends decided I was some kind of an asshole for breaking up a fight. They tried to goad me into conflict, but I had the common sense to let security fight the battle for me.

So, with my friends behind me and security to the front...these swine were subdued and arrested by the police.

The poor guy who got his head smashed against the ground was brought out on a stretcher and Amon Amarth's sister wanted to buy me a beer, but the beer garden was closed.

Amon Amarth is ok.
