Server Question

I have almost zero disk space on my computer, so I need a server to upload some of my more...interesting files to. But, most servers don't allow these kind of files, if you get my drift. Where can I find a server which'll take them?

Your thread title indicates that there's a question, but I fail to see one in your OP...

Why the need for upload as opposed to archiving the files onto some kind of local storage? Are the files so 'interesting' that you need to be able to get to them from other computers, wherever you happen to be?

Regardless, your only other options are to get more storage for your PC - modern HDDs come in some really big flavours - or to find a less discerning web server to store them on... there are plenty, as long as you're prepared to shop around, if you get my drift.

I meant to ask where can I find a server which'll take them?

113 MB of disk space doesn't exactly get me too far.

*stern look*

you just remember where you got them or keep the joy of discovering new "interesting files" in the future.

if you cant burn them on cd/dvd/flashdrive/massive numbers of floppy disks you dont need them.

unless you made the files yourself, they are already "stored" online in the various places you got them from.

Alright. (Sees if he can burn it to DVD)

EDIT: Thank you for that brainwave! I got it burned to a USB. Woohoo!

Good luck with that. From past experiences of running a PC a little too close to the limit as far as storage goes, I suspect that you'll have a few problems with what you're doing... most CD/DVD burning packages like to create a temporary image of what they are burning, and 113Mb of free space is just not going to cut it, but good luck anyway.

Consider getting a second harddrive and installing it into a drive bay you've got open. Harddrives are fairly dirt cheap these days and chances are, you won't kill it up so you can use it for a while.

Christ, what the fuck is the point in saving it on your hard drive in the first place? Is your Internet so slow that you can't just fap to porn directly steaming off a site?

We have one, but I can't find it in the house, but I'll work with what I got (297 MB) for now.

Why not just encrypt it then upload it? If the host can't see what's there, they can't object!

It's stuff you can't get streaming off the net.

Two questions:

How do I do that?
Can I watch it again easily?

You can add or replace your HDD with a bigger one... There are 300-500+GB drives available now... This is what I did not too long ago, replacing my 120's with 400's...

I got it on to a 1 GB memory card, but my brother's photos are on there. I'm trying to hunt down an empty one I know exists.
