So sad when people are killed for no reason. I mourn for my brothers and sisters that are being killed, without recognition. Sad to see this type of thing happen here in the "civilized' world. But then again, this is the same nation where shooting up schools, daycares, post offices, malls and so forth, is becoming the norm. What is going on in the minds of people to cause all this violence?:(:(

Well, you can hear my explanation. It first begins in our society with the emphasis of emotions and the individual above all else, which means the shooter places himself and his misery above the lives of innocent civilians. It then follows through that all other miserable people have a precedent to follow: someone has shot innocents in an elaborate suicide/statement. That mans they can do it too. Someone has broken the ice. As more and more commit school shootings, it becomes harder and harder to stop others.
It is an extreme tragedy and I have no idea how to stop it. Sometimes I wonder though, if we spend too much time "fighting for our rights" and not enough time living up to our responsibilities.
What is going on in the minds of people to cause all this violence?:(:(
Nothing that makes sense, or else he would have realized that there will be a huge backlash against whatever movement or cause he is perceived to have acted on behalf of.

My theory? It works like serial killers, most of them have emulators, most of whome get caught due to a lack of attention to detail possessed by the killer they are trying to copy. Some people also emulate the mass shootings that others do. Also, the press we give the rampages and the shooters provides a very enticing reason to go on a rampage to those with the right mindset. I.e.; narcissists missing moral restraints.

Summary of second paragraph: The way US society has become makes some people go crazy and shoot others, I have barely any sympathy for the nation since they COULD make changes so that these shootings do not occur but refuse to do so because it'll infringe on their TV and pigging out time.
Liberals condone the right to do things that effect not only the health of the one doing them but those of the people in the vicinity. And kinky sex has been linked to most of the killers[disease-wise] that are predominant in today's society like breast cancer and aids. I'll have the sources posted once I find them.

1)Nobody did

You have to remember that some of these shooters are victims themselves. Eric and Dylan were abused by their peers and got no help from apathetic teachers who had the power to step in and do something but didn't. I went through a similar experience in school; no one would help, I was always outnumbered, and it didn't matter what I did to just get away because I would be followed. Well, there are a few crazies out there, but a terrorist factory? But you're right, excessive bullying can severely damage a person, and some of them just snap.
That recent thread on bullying was pretty sad, with all the people saying that it's no big deal, and that people should just toughen up. That's actually rather useful advice, but the fact that the world is full of jerks isn't an excuse to be a jerk.

Corrected for accuracy, in the old days this smeg was uncommon but ever since bullying and other factors in society have gotten worse this crud is more and more common. More and more people are snapping because of the dysfunctional society we created for ourselves, and they are making more and more people terrorists. Sounds like someone has no sense of history, just like the people who think presidential races are getting more hostile (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m2519/is_4_25/ai_n6075394). If anything, society has become a lot tamer over the years and it is the sensativity to not being exposed to it for a while that makes it seem like it's worse today than it used to be.
