Don't make fun of sad people. If they're willing to "cut", they've obviously got some serious problems and people making fun of them isn't going to make anything better.

I'm sorry, "liking trees and stuff" renders one a hippy?

And self-harm renders one "emo"?

The first proposition is easily dismissed; an appreciation should not, to anybody more intelligent than the average Joe, render one a "hippy".

As for the self-harm, your stance is staggering. You claim to be his/her friend, and yet, whilst knowing they self-harm, neither deal with this with discretion, nor wonder why. Instead you blithely label them "emo" and disregard what are likely to genuine, and severe, issues; namely, those that compel somebody to take a knife to themselves. Some friend you are.

Question:
My friend cuts himself, what should I do?

Options:
1. Be supportive and get him help
or
2. Find out the best way to mock him

Since the poster has chosen option 2, I can only suggest using names more potent than the worn out "emo" and "hippie" Those will never hasten his suicide.

I might be able to come up with a few, but for a real expert, you should probably talk to Lori Drew (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lori_Drew).

If we're talking actual emo-hippies, then let me and my buddy Eric know. Not the self-cutters, just the ones that are really sad without having super extreme reasons. Life can have its low moments, but that doesn't give a person to constantly whine about absolutely everything that's gone wrong with them. And if they're hippies, well, their idiocy alone makes them targets.

*whistles to buddy Eric*
"Cartman, Let's Go! We've got reports of Emo-Hippies travelling up from San Francisco, so we've got our work cot out for us! Looks like they're moving in on Boulder!"

Why? I am sad and practically suicidal; I don't give rat's ass if you make fun of me--in fact I encourage it. Life is a farce, never make the mistake of taking it seriously.

When I am dying I hope someone jokes around with me about death. It is much better to die with a smile.

I don't see why an emo-hippie couldn't exist, or why either word should be an insult.

1. emo is short for emotional hardcore, it's not trend nor does it to refer to the clone army of people who wear their sisters jeans and have stupid hair who claim to be depressed
2. the correct term is 'Idiot'
3. do i win internets?
4. ????
5. profit

I went to yet another funeral the other week. An elderly relative of mine who's time was up. The song played whilst the coffin was running down that slide towards the incinerator?

'Always look on the bright side of life'. Now you would think it would be a much played tune at the celebration of ones life, but I have been told that is not the case?

Shit it made me laugh anyway, and then got me thinking about her steak and kidney pudding! Ahhh happy days.

Gota be better to be sent off that way than all of this, quiet frankly selfish, weeping an a wailing huh?

In fact I'm gonna put that in my will. If ya don't have a laugh and joke about my life, at my funeral, then no money for you son!

Yeah, after all it's only a fuckin' label for the sort of music you like. If people call me a metalravereggeamusicalshowtuner I guess that means they have more insight into me than many others huh!
