It seems obligatory that every series on TV will do an adaptation of A Christmas Carol. Most of the time, they're abyssmally bad. Once in a very long while it will actually work. I watched Las Vegas last night, something I don't usually do, but the writer's strike has hit the shows I usually watch. It was the mandatory re-imagining of A Christmas Carol, but it worked! I was pleasantly surprised. Did anyone see it? Does anyone recall any other worthy adaptations? What's the worst/best adaptation ever seen?
For the worst, I think Ebbie, starring Susan Lucci (not a series adaptation, but still terrible and a waste of Lucci's talent).

It may not be a TV adaptation of "A Christmas Carol," but last night I saw "Scrooge: The Musical" at the community theatre. It was true to the spirit of the story and included details most adaptations I've seen leave you, including the scene from Scrooge's childhood.

How many? Too many.
The best? The one whose tape was run through the BOFH's bulk eraser.
The worst? No way in hell will I watch them enough to answer that.

i love the muppets christmas carol!
i also love the patrick stewart version. i have it on tape.
and i tend to watch one or 2 of the movie versions that have been made over the years
but i despise the tv show christmas carol take offs.
and i refuse to believe that ANYTHING on "las vegas" can be worth watching. there is no worse written piece of crap show on tv at this time.
