How would you respond to a Vigilante

How would you respond to a Vigilante? Crime in lots of areas is pretty bad, most of all in big cities like detriot. How would you respond if to people getting sick of it and turning vigilante? Like a Batman or Justice League type deal?

Being a vigilante guy myself I would outright support it. If the police can't keep people safe then someone has to do it.

I'd turn him in straight way to the cops.

That's the test. If the Cops can deal with the vigilantes, the vigilante is unnecessary. If they can't, the vigilante IS necessary, and the cops won't be able to stop him anyway.

Depends. If it's someone who just stops crime and turns the criminals over to the cops, I'm all for it. If it's a person who decides to be judge, jury, and executioner, I'm against it completely.

Cool! Go for it!

Honestly, how is this any different in principle from a neighborhood watch? Why would anyone object?

There's no problem with defending yourself or stopping a crime when you just happen to be nearby. When you go around hunting people it crosses over into a gray area.

wow, this got off track in a hurry . . .

Anyway, some of the older guys may remember something we used to call "country/frontier justice" If a guy was beating his wife up, or his kids, or was just a bad guy, a few of us would get together and proceed to "teach" him that, that type of behavior was not allowed, and we would usually run them out of town.

ahhh, the good ol' days.

I would help this vigilante as much as I could. Also, I would try and organize the rest of the neighborhood to try and establish our own Council of Vigilance like they did in San Francisco in the 1800s when the government's attempts at law failed abysmally. Seeing as how we would be out for our own good and not out to get votes, we'd probably do better.

As much fun as it would be to have a power ring, having to police an entire sector of space (there are only 3600 so each one would be frickin' huge) would really suck. You'd be better off with a gold power ring, ultimate cosmic power and no responsibilities.
