Eat, drink, sleep, and studentify.
Currently I'm a freshman at college, studying to become a nurse.
When all is said and done, I'd like to find a career in either ER nursing, psychiatric nursing (or better yet, psychiatric nurse practitioner), or nurse anesthesia.

More work. I don't live in LA so my work doesn't come from narrative TV and only a handful of movies are shot here, but reality shows and documentaries come through here all the time, plus we're like an epicenter for car ads.

Where I'm working now is the best. Prior to this I worked in the burning pits of hell. Problem was, it was the first non-military contract job I'd ever worked so I just tried my best to deal with it because I thought that's just how it was... But now that I'm in this new place I realize what I was missing.
At my old job I was hired despite it being well known that some of the skills they wanted were skills I didn't have. "We'll train you. Don't worry about it." They said. Their idea of training is like if you went to a college to take a course and the professor said "OK here's the text. Read it. Midterm next week." and left the room.
I could go on and on. :/

When people tell me they want to write (and a lot of people do) "what have you written?" is the first question I ask. Most people give an answer like that. If you want to be a writer then you have to write.

I work in a records management centre- I process incoming filing and fulfill information requests for the staff in other branches. It is basically a library-sort of job (I have a bit of experience in that, so it was an easy switch). Right now we just merged with another company and have absorbed thier files into our centre. They are a mess of poor standards, so one of my big tasks at the moment is getting things in tip-top shape to maximise efficiency.
I graduated just over a year ago with an MA in international trade, which is only slightly related to what my current company does, so I am looking for a job within that field. Perhaps something with more research, or something that actually takes me to other places to do my work. I have some promising government leads, but their hiring process is a very slow one. It typically takes between six months and a year from applying to one's first day, so I am actually right on track. Until then, I am making the most of creating organisational systems and databases, and munching on the cakes and squares that my coworkers keep baking.

Long shifts (10 to 14 hours). Lots of responsibility. I need to think and act fast. Use modern technology. Comradine is okay, could be better though.

Not in the slightest. A headteacher of a decent private or public school earns a staggering wage, and sports journalism is a passion. Shockingly, success is not, for those who are not materialistic, defined purely by status and money.

I want to be able to retire and live comfortably. I see little reason, however, in being drawn into the city simply because it is deemed the "correct" thing to do.
Sports journalists are "hacks" in the same way any other journalist is. It is an opinion you are entitled to, if I personally see little merit to it, and equally little merit in disputing since your opinion is unlikely to influence me.

Yup. I've never seen the attraction of London at all really. Camden is amazing, and the social life equally good, but professionally, I just find it to be far too pressured and intense to allow for a decent life.
