So it is a movie trick or are these genuine?
I sure hope they're genuine because then I'd have something to train my cat to do. :p

Bah! My response was preempted.
On a side note, shouldn't your sig say "ckeltick" not "ckeltic"?

I, for one, welcome our new verbal feline overlords, and wish to offer my services in helping to round up my fellow humans to toil in their underground catnip mines.
Someone had to say it.:D

I only watched the first one, (might watch the others later) but it makes sense, since "hello" sounds somewhat similar to "meow".. (especially the hello in that video)
I suppose if the cat meowed in slightly differing ways, and they rewarded the cat for every meow that sounded more like "hello" than the previous one, then they'd gradually encourage the cat to make its meows sound more like "hello"s and eventually take the transition to the point it was at in that video.

They're real.
Good luck with training that cat, it will take an enormous amount of time and patience... those kitties aren't trained from scratch (pardon the pun), they probably made that sound one day and got a really positive response, or as in the case with "Long Johnson", that's really just an upset cat growling. Yes, that's what that sounds like.
Cats can make sounds. These sounds may occasionally be similar to words. If that's talking then cats can talk.

Your spelling thing is going to really annoy me. Also, your sig is too long. Sigs are limited to 8 lines.

Those cats are laughable. Mine enjoys discussing philosophy & cricket over a bottle of red.
Oh my dog, they're real! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UcuEMnwzrE)
Newage people are funny and annoying.

My cat, Domino, was acquired as I was walking home one night, and found him trying to nurse off his mother, who'd been struck by a car. I never found any other kittens, and ended up nursing Dom off a doll bottle of Similac. Dom was an imitator, and often lured birds to my patio by chirping like them. He also mimicked sounds he commonly heard, and my friends swore he'd walk into the kitchen after I'd locked the house up for the night and cry, "I'm a cat!" It's a matter of the cat, and we humans hearing what we want to hear.
On the other hand, Dom had specific meows that meant "Food!", "Play!", and a certain purr that meant he wanted to lay on me, and my friends actually could differentiate them, so it wasn't just me. Domino was a long-haired Persian, if that means anything.
Animals, usually birds, will mimic sounds they hear as part of bonding with their surroundings, so it's only natural one would duplicate the sounds of greeting they hear, and our ears make up the difference.

AWWWW KITTIES! :D:D:D:D:D
I think the first one and last one are real, but the middle one could be faked. It was on America's Funniest Home Video, back when Bob Sadget would do the annoying voice overs.

Oh yeah, that's funny. Cats will occasionally try to mimick the sounds humans make as a way of getting their attention. One of our cats, Sokkwi, calls people by making sounds that sound like "Mommy."
