How I Nearly Joined a Cult

Rotovia-

Now, I know what you're thinking; "there's no way Rotovia's not badass enough to avoid being sucked into a cult!"... and you'd be dead wrong! Just like whatever religious or scientific belief you've ever held. Now, moving on...

So, there I was minding my own business, slinking past the ticket inspectors at Central Station, when this pruned up version of Dame Judy Dench thrusts this newspaper into my hands.

"Hear how La Roche predicted Bush would {{Anything he's ever done, can go here}}"

That instantly got my attention. When I realised in wasn't GreenLeft Weekly, it dawned on me that political compass had once again led me astray.

I began to walk away.

"You hate Bush don't you...?"

She knows me so well.

"You could join the La Roche Youth Movement and join the bus to our conference"

Yes, of course I will go and make trouble for the establishment. Wait, you know what... I'll just Google you guys instead.

They weren't to keen on that.

I was planning to support their wonderfully Bush-hating party (The Citizens Electoral Council) when I realised they are some kind of right-wing, mentally defective, Jonestown wanna-be, losers!

If you want to reach your full state of enlightenment and dock with the Mothership, you'll have to be castrated.

*whips out a large mallet* THis could sting...

It just took one look at the "Is Goebbels on your Campus?" issue to know that it wasn't worth my time.

Note to Rotovia: Answering rhetorical questions from people handing out leaflets in the street? Always a bad idea.

On the other hand, if you want to see a great facial reaction, just answer the question, "Have you found Jesus?" with the response, "Only the one piece."

You will see about six emotional responses in a period of less than two seconds. :)

I think those same people told me that the world would end on Oct. 12, 1999. And they were right. They were right.
