I am trying to compile a list of issues for the 2008 election that I can compare the presidential candidates on, any suggestions?

Global Warming - Most important issue in whole world yet will probably only be minor and cursory mention on occasion. :(

Okay, I'm making a list, and global warming should be on that

now should that be under the foreign policy section or the domestic policy section (or should i make an enviornmental policy part?)

Taxes, duh.

Considering that we pay less in taxes than most industrialized countries, taxes are not an issue; unless one wishes to get something for nothing.

Well, if you are libertarian, they are

Well, if you are libertarian, they are

Indeed, libertarians support the 'right' of the extravagantly rich not to be taxed over the right of normal people to have the basic necessities of life.

Well, if you are libertarian, they are

As I said earlier, if you want something for nothing...

Diplomatic efforts (ie. will they talk to Iran, how they will handle Israel/Palestine relations, etc.)

And, since you're getting pretty detailed, I'd add embryonic stem cell research into the mix. It was certainly an issue in the last Congressional election, so I don't see why it wouldn't continue to be.

Also, specifically trade with China. How open should it be when we're getting all sorts of tainted products from there?

Oh, also: genocide in Darfur

It needs more structure. I think you could drop some of the issues, and make it just Minorities issues, or something like that, maybe LGBT-issues separate.
Environmental policy should be a a larger group imo, I can't believe it's such a small issue in your elections. Maybe something on science.

Overall I think your list is a little bit to long and detailed, it might be better if you took some issues together.
