I've got an idea. How about everybody takes a turn changing an event in history, just one event, and then the next person changes another event based on the last changed event.
An Example could be something like this:
....
User 1:
The Carthaginians win the Battle of Agrigentum, destroying the Roman forces. The stunning defeat forces Rome to surrender to Carthage, and Carthage seizes the southern areas of the Italian Peninsula, and becomes the world superpower.
User 2:
Carthage declares war on Egypt, and conquers it.
User 3:
Carthage proceeds to invade Palastine. After a heavy resistance, Jeruselum falls.
User 4:
Christianity is established in the Carthaginian Empire and becomes the Religion of the East.
...
If your interested, feel free to post an event. As long as we start out with a BC event, this could be a really long thread. AND PLEASE, NOTHING REDICULOUS LIKE "Then the Etheopians nuked the world and everyone died."
I tried this in another forum and it got way out of hand- nobody could remember the dates or civilizations, etc., so please- try and keep it organized.

OK, how about, Babbage completed the Difference Engine, causing the Information Age to come earlier and be centred in Britain. The British use computers to perform accurate trajectory categories in World War I and win easily.
I can't think much further than that, but is it plausible that the fall of the British Empire would not have happened if Babbage had finished his invention?

Since WWI was not nearly as bad, Germany is not given the short end of the armistice stick, causing nazism to fade away into nothingness.
