Kill the Poor: The Sarcastic Brilliance of the Dead Kennedys

I just recently got an old Dead Kennedys CD from my friend. All I can say is that this is what punk is supposed to be about. Rage and sarcastic wit my man, not the pop fluff alternative that its degenerated into today.
Their song "Kill the Poor" is definitive punk. What can I say? I <3 the sarcastic punk deconstruction of society.
I can't help but chuckle every time I listen to the song. Jonathon Swift would be proud.

Sounds like a promising video game title.

Are the Dead Kennedy’s still around? That’s almost hard to believe, I haven't listened to them in, I don’t know, twenty years? (no I didn't click the link) :p

If you're really that Jello Biafra, then you're even older than me! :D
(I clicked the link this time... nice video, cool remix with the lyrics thrown in for those that don't know the song already,... nice)

Will do.

Sounds like a promising video game title.
Indeed. Take the GTA engine, add one (1) neutron bomb, stir, and you'd have a romp Jello Biafra would be proud of.

If so, then he, like me, is singing an old 7 Seconds song...

Meh, California Ueber Alles is far better than KTP in the areas you listed, and it goes so far as to actually address specific people and groups.

But it's a song that says what every rich snob has thought about at least once in his/her life!
meh, jonathan swift did it better, and 280 years earlier

I dunno, I rather like the direct political message in CUA, specifically targeting those whose ideals were sacrificed to power and money. It's a potent message targeted at actual people.
KTP, on the other hand, is merely targeted at some threatening nether-entity called the rich.
I also like Holiday in Cambodia an awful lot.

The lyrics aren't bad, but Biafra's voice makes me want to kick him in the nuts.

Note to self. Threads are not research papers and should be titled accordingly.
Anyway, since I know nothing about the band or the song or the album, or anything else for that matter, I'll say something random and maybe post a clever image macro.
