According to the article, the differences aren't huge and it depends on the situation.

And vice versa - listening to some man talk on and on about a decision he needs to make - pro and cons - data analysis - why or why not - ... Just do it, don't talk about it.

Which is why heterosexual guys for the most part prefer the company of other guys. Because we need to talk about business decisions, we realize we cant see into the future and so we seek other viewpoints and perspectives. These decisions are important because at least in the "traditional" family making the right decisions impacts thier ability to care for thier family. You would think that you would be happy that your man takes his responsibilities that seriously. Other men are for more understanding of this fact it seems.
In my own experience, most men prefer the nonsexual company of other men and a substantial minority of women also prefer the company of men. Males seem to be the slightly more interesting sex of the species to hang out with ;)

Men and women talk equally that is nothing new. What matters is the content of the conversation. It's very unlikely for instance that women are going to talk about fixing a car. Where as guys could discuss this for hours.
So to all the woman out there if your talking about fashion or gossip, if the guy doesn't respond, it does not necessarily mean he is not listening, it more than likely means that he has nothing to add to the conversation and therefore keeps his mouth shut.
AMG you mean a sexist myth turns out to not actually have anything to do with reality?!

I've not experienced that as much. Most of the time, men just make a decision, while it's the women who will get torn up for hours being indecisive.
You can easily see this in action. Go clothes shopping with a guy. Go with a gal. See which event lasts longer due to indecision.

Which bit is the "sexist myth"? I've heard any number of times that women talk more because they are more intelligent and more social. I eagerly await the feminist spin on this latest "revelation".
I'm glad we spent so much time and money on a study that ultimately contributes nothing to anyone anywhere. Just more pandering to the ravenous hooting dick holes obsessed with the "Gender War". Men bitching about going shopping with their wives, women complaining about picking up after their husbands, and me ready to bludgeon them both with a barbarian war hammer.
Maybe I'm such a miserable cuss because my mom watches Crossing Over with John Edwards way too loudly, or perhaps because my dad knows everything when he's drunk, but neither are more infuriating than this pissing contest between genders. I really wish I was born asexual.
This is me.
That is also me not caring.

Now where are the results for that study on why women need so many shoes...

Most people spend most of the time talking about boring pointless stuff. It's not really a gender issue.
Now why do women have so many more children than men huh Mr. Surveytaker?

Or he's just bored and wish he could bang his head against the table.

I'm well aware, and I've presented my very well articulated argument to her numerous times.
All in futility.

I always laugh when people pay psychics.
there is no gender war. only a slow decline into androgeny.

I prefer the company of women.
I always have heated, awesome discussions with my male friends. With my chick friends, it's always just, I don't know, bland.
I'm not saying this in a sexist manner, it's just an observation.

Well, in my experience, going clothes shopping with my sister was quick and painless. Going with my dad, however, is quite possibly the most unbearable shit I have to go through.
When I see a shirt or a pair of pants that look nice on me, I buy them. I don't even have to try them on, because I know my measurements. But with my dad, I have to decide between up to ten (sometimes more) different shirts and/or pants, attempt to make an argument as to why that grey and yellow shirt would look terrible, and then try everything on (even the stuff I'm not going to buy).
And after all of that's done, I still have to wait through five goddamn minutes of him looking at every fucking piece of clothing, trying to decide which ones would be best (even though I had my stuff picked out from the beginning). And my sister's just the same as I am.
So really, I think it varies from person to person, and has less to do with being male of female.
