So I had my ipod (yes, yes, I know. Ipod bad. Evil. Shame on me. anyway...) on shuffle, and two songs I had forgotten about came on and now I can't stop listening to them.
They are:
Blues Traveler - The Mountains Win Again
Smooth - Tempted

Anyone else rediscover some songs recently? Maybe it will help me find some other lost ones...

I hadn't forgotten about it as such, but it had been years and years since I'd last heard "When the Levee Breaks" before yesterday on the train when my iPod threw it up for listening.

It was a nice moment... and outside, it kept on raining :D

Ipods rule, bitch!

Anyway, just today I rediscovered Anytime You Need a Friend (http://youtube.com/watch?v=L8Ng9dkTi5I). Super sappy, but I was in the mood for sappy. I have a friend who's going through some really tough times mental illness, so I've been supporting and caring and whatever. Total self-aggrandisement, but damnit, I've deserved a pat on the back with this one.

One of my favorite songs. I always blast it when it rains :)

I enjoy my ipod. But there are those on here who would call me a sheep for owning one, despite the fact that I've had one since the first generation ones...

AAAAAAAAnywho...I hope your friend gets through this. And sappy music can be good.

"No Woman No Cry" by Bob Marley
"My Sacrifice" by Creed
"Perfect Gentlemen" by Wyclef Jean

"No Woman No Cry" reminds me of the time before George W. Bush (I.E. happy times).

"My Sacrifice" reminds me of random love-related crap

"Perfect Gentlemen" reminds me of Final Fantasy 8's Squall/Rinoa dancing scene from disc 1. Nostalgia + 9001

Rediscovering a lot of old school Nas, from around the time of the release of Illmatic. Love reppin' the hood. :D

I was just reminded of an late 80's early 90's song actually, 'I Love You Always Forever' by Donna Lewis. Yeah, it's pure sugar, but it brought back some fond memories.

Nah, I just call someone a sheep if they automatically assume because you're talking about mp3 players then omg you must be talking iPods because they're the only mp3 players out there right? I have nothing against iPods, I think they're pretty good players.

Anyway, recently I rediscovered the Kill Bill soundtrack (parts 1 and 2). Lots of really good songs on there. Also, there's Seize the Day by Avenged Sevenfold.

Where you're going wrong is caring what anti-Apple fanboys here think. Or, well, anyone here for that matter.

Thanks.

I don't have anything major against iPods... iTunes on the other hand.

Come Join Us by Bad Religion and All Uncovered by The Watchmen.

Listening to Come Join Us isn't so much rediscovering the song as it is simply listening to it for the first time in a few months. I forgot how utterly awsome it was.

All Uncovered was a fluke; my friend was singing it at work and I asked him what it was. It floored me that I forgot it, being the kick ass piece of music that it is.

Which one?

The projects in Mt. Vernon, Illinois :p

Fair enough. I know that what people in my current city of residence call the ghetto is far less dangerous than what I would have called a ghetto growing up in Houston. A rough neighborhood is very much relative to the larger social context you're in.

Silverchair's album Neon Ballroom; superb bit of music, that... other than that, all of Bjork up to Medulla except Post, and Rammstein. Going for a nostalgia kick.:p

That reminds me, I re-encountered Rammstein's "Rosenrot" recently. It was better than I remembered it being.

Kryptonite by Three Doors Down.

A song I love, more because of the time in my life that it reminds me of than anything else.

Not so much a song I rediscovered as one I discovered in rediscovering another song.

I love it.

Your Kiss is Sweet - Syreeta (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2FIyWZuyLc&feature=related)

Then I just reloaded Hunky Dory onto my l'il Shuffle and remember sitting in my room playing this endlessly on the guitar thinking I was deep.
