"good female evil villains..."

Isn't that an oxymoron?

EDIT: Wow, my first threadsteal.

Would Milady de Winter from Les Trois Mousquetaires count as what you're looking for?

There are plenty of female villains, like nurse rachet and creulella devil, but they're just jerks. Then there are the villains that would be smart if they weren't totally nuts, like poison ivy. Why are there no female lex luthor type characters? The closest I can think of is vicky from fairly oddparents, and carmen sandiago. Lame.

In thinking about my own answer, I wonder if there are any female villains, of which my own example could easily be considered a heroine of sorts, that is not portrayed as using sex as her chief weapon?

Man's greatest accusation leveled at women is that they seduce.

Hmmm...

Mad Dr Nesbit (http://www.supermegatopia.com/profiles/profiles.php?thisLink=maddrnesbit.txt)

the real reason why you don't see an evil woman Genius is because they KNOW how much of a headache ruling the world would be.

however, if you look closely... Fairy Tales and Disney is all about the Evil witch or the Evil Step-mother or the Evil Queen...

Ursula/Sea Witch (Little Mermade)
Cruella De-Ville (101 Dalmations)
The Gingerbread House Witch (Hansel and Gretal)
The Evil Queen (Snow White)
Witch of the West (Wizard of Oz)
The Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland)

now if you're looking at comics. there are a few.
Selene - The Black Queen (Marvel)
Morgana Le Fey - (Marvel)
Poison Ivy - (DC)
Harley Quinn - (DC)
Madame Hydra - (Marvel)
Lady Mastermine - (Marvel)
One of the Strucker Twins is female, but dunno if she's still around. (Marvel)
Deathbird - (Marvel)

Why some men have a problem with this is beyond me.
I don't.

Meh. The Borg Queen never struck me as an "Evil Genius" character, really.

I have no idea, not really being a star trek fan. It was before my time. :p
they do have a 'Queen' (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Borg_Queen)

Some of the female Forsaken in Wheel of Time? Graendal? Semirhage? Moghedien?

I don't know if that's what you're looking for, but they're sort of in that direction....

Bann-ed: Star Trek displayed a huge amount of variance about what the Borg actually were and did. Canon? What canon?

And I would like to suggest Mrs. Coulter for the list, from the His Dark Materials trilogy. And the Stalker Fang, if anyone else has read the Hungry Cities quartet.

No, Marisa Coulter. Of course. I don't think TV pundits qualify as evil geniuses.

I wouldn't count Cain as an evil genius. Especially if the stuff from Razor is any indication.

Ah, excellent set of books, one of my favourites. Unfortunately it seems the film adaptations are going to be a bit weak.

Depends on your definition of an evil genius though. I mean, peddling rubbish and having it continuously eaten up by a significant majority must take some doing.

How about the white witch from The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe?

She ruled for 100 years and yes was killed but could be brought down by a magical lion.

Anne Coulter would only qualify as the OP's "just jerks" category. She's dumb as a stump and nutty as any tree that could possibly have been felled to create said stump. Some people respond to that, hence her fanbase, but that doesn't qualify as genius.

It was supposed to be, but then one of the movies was placed in the hands of someone who decided that villains should have a face that you can hiss at. Thus creating one of the dumbest lines ever in Star Trek. "I am the collective."
