Well, I'm aware I used to start a lot of these, but after a several month hiatus, I thought I might return.

Anyway, what's everyone listening to lately? I've been listening to a lot of industrial stuff. Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, that kind of thing.

Heavy Metal. Stuff from the 70s and 80s is my preference, but I also like Pantera, Rammstein, and some other stuff. Also, despite having never heard them before last wednesday, I have been able to listen to nothing but System of a Down since then.

I thought I hadn't seen you in a while. You seemed to be part of "the establishment" when I reincarnated as New Limacon, it's nice to see you're back.
Music-wise: The Clash, Johnny Cash, and...something else that ends in -ash, I'll tell you when I think of it.

I used to hate Slayer. Now, I think they're amazing. Then again I used to hate Pantera and Motorhead, so it appears my tastes just become progressively heavier over time. At the moment I dislike Death Metal. I wonder how long it will be.

Depends. Some death metal isn't ultra heavy. Early Morbid Angel is pretty much thrash metal with growly vocals.

Right now, a lot of Christmas music. I dig 24-hour holiday channels. Plus it calms you down when you're driving in bad weather.

Recently, I've pretty much been listening to Type O Negative, Lordi, and a bit of Manowar, but I'll post a list of what I generally listen to.

Type O
Fear Factory
Lordi
Manowar
Rammstein
Black Sabbath
NIN (occasionally)
and various songs from other random, but mostly metal, bands.

Oh, and I've had a recent addiction to some of the songs from Phantom of the Opera. That's seems to randomly happen for a month or so every so often, ever since I saw it at the Fox Theater. (Two or three years ago. >.>)

Lately I've been on a late '60s-early '70s kick. Not so much the overplayed stuff that's on the radio, but mostly the stuff that is fairly unknown, but influential in its own way.

Has anybody ever listened anything by Neutral Milk Hotel - as they must have one of the worst names ever I am intrigued to see how bad they sound plus one of their recordings is based on Anne Frank's diary?

What I have been listening to lately is:

early Louis Armstrong
Blind Willie McTell
J S Bach
Kevin Ayers
Iggy Pop and the Stooges
Velvet Underground
Nick Drake
Robert Johnson
The Wedding Present

Oh, I almost forgot: I love Tom Lehrer.

This particular example is called When You Are Old And Grey, and I'd like to dedicate it to anyone in the audience who is still in love with each other.

Since I still appreciate you,
Let's find love while we may.
Because I know I'll hate you
When you are old and grey.

So say you love me here and now,
I'll make the most of that.
Say you love and trust me,
For I know you'll disgust me
When you're old and getting fat.

An awful debility,
A lessened utility,
A loss of mobility
Is a strong possibility.
In all probability
I'll lose my virility
And you your fertility
And desirability.
And this liability
Of total sterility
Will lead to hostility
And a sense of futility.
So let's act with agility
While we still have facility,
For we'll soon reach senility
And lose the ability.

Your teeth will start to go, dear,
Your waist will start to spread.
In twenty years or so, dear,
I'll wish that you were dead.

I'll never love you then at all
The way I do today.
So please remember,
When I leave in December,
I told you so in May.
