I am a huge fan of Tolstoy's "War and Peace." Today, I was in the bookstore, and I noticed a new copy, which boasted to be the "Original Version," and said it was different manuscript that was never published during Tolstoy's life. I was really interested, but I'm kind of too busy to be reading 800 pages at the moment, so I was wondering if anyone here has read it, and if they have, what are the most important or interesting changes?

The Bolkonskys all die in the end. Kinda symbolic if you ask me.

*nods*

Tolstoy's mistress told him to change the title to War and Peace

Okay this has gone minutes long enough...They don't die, I just picked the first name out of the wikipedia article. I hope you don't think any less of me as a human being.

I don't have the time either. Luckily I took a speed reading course, finished it off in twenty minutes and I can tell you that it involves Russia.

I just out-referenced you, New Manvir. How do you like them apples?

I am a huge fan of Tolstoy's "War and Peace." Today

by "fan" do you mean you managed to finish the book? and by "huge" do you mean you can explain the complex blabber of every word from the writer perspective?
