Now I've got a bit of a question about google search, but you'll have to forgive me if this turns into a bit of a rant. is it just me or has google search been more and more playing fast and loose with the search terms you enter. You know giving you alternative spellings and what have you.
I mean it always did do that, not like wikipedia where it needs you to enter it exactly, but it just seems recently, to me at least, that it's getting worse, to the point that you're getting pages of false positives because it's searching for things you never asked it to.
Case in point; just before, I wanted to search for a British WW2 tank ace on google. I knew his surname was Dring and his nickname was 'killer'. so I type both into google. 40 pages! before a single link mentioning the word Dring! Lots about 'driving' or 'drink', but if I'd wanted links about that then surely I'd have typed that in the first place?!
Just wanted to say that. Get it off me chest and all that.
