I really hope he's crazy. Some kind of schizophrenic or something. Because the alternative is really creepy.

Or a desperate means of explaining why he ran away from a wife and two kids.

I keep telling the rest of the Devil-worshipping Conspiracy not to let anyone escape our dastardly clutches, but do they list? No. And now we are being exposed.

He's probably a mixed of schizophrenic and Dissociative Fugue, which is a dissociative disorder in which one suddenly flees from one's life situation, travels to a new location, assumes a new identity and has amnesia for personal material.
I love my Abnormal Psychology class. (We call it Abby Normal class hehe)

Seems somewhat legit. There was a real LaRose family.

Seems somewhat legit. There was a real LaRose family.
The story is legit, you can go see the website he refers to in the article - www.donlarose.com - which he seems to have changed since this story came out.
My guess, and what seems to be the thoughts of those investigating the original disappearance, is that he faked his own disappearance, changed his name and pitched up somewhere new.
His original family found the website and located him, now he's come out with the story of satanism and brainwashing - but it doesn't add up.
He says he took the decision to leave his original family because of the danger to their lives from the cult he was being 'brainwashed' by, but if he could take that decision, how come he 'forgot' all about them afterwards?
I suspect it's a case of a coward who left his family and is now fabricating a complex story to justify that.
Odd what man will do.
Is there even such as thing as "truth-serum"?

Is there even such as thing as "truth-serum"?
Most 'truth-serums' merely make you talk, there's no guarantee that what you're saying is true, you're just very verbose. In fact, the best truth-serum is a mixture of alcohol and marijuana, it's as effective as any other.
There's nothing that can make you tell the truth against your will or against your memory.
Well, there's violence but again, whether you tell the truth or whether anyone using violence believes you when you do is another matter.
