So, I got Super Mario Galaxy today and it's awesome! I thought the hype was so huge I was bound to get disappointed, but it really is that good. And fun! Damn, it's been such a long while since I just had fun with the game! And it's addictive as all hell - the only thing I could think of during a meeting I had in the afternoon was "so many minutes until I get home and get to play some more".
So, anyone else got the game? What do you think so far?

Not, but I've heard nice things about it from people who have it.
*lacks a Wii. Can't afford $200 price tag*

Though I recently picked up Lunar Knights for the Nintendo DS, and am loving it. Currently making my way through a 100-level bonus dungeon with absurdly powerful enemies at the top floors.

If I had a Wii I'd get it. I've got an Xbox 360, and boy, am I sick of playing Halo 3!
I've actually been playing System Shock 2, constantly. It happens every 6 months or so, I'll be really into a game, and then I'll get bored of it, then I'll crawl back to SS2.

I guess it's my time to reciprocate - I have coveted the DS ever since it came out, but the thing keeping me from getting one is that the outdoors are a much needed hindrance to my video game addiction.

I miss my 360!!!:(
Seriously, I only got half way through halo3 before I went to university, and since my 360 is a family console, I can't play the bastard until I get home for Christmas....yes, I'm sad and computer game obsessive.

It's nothing special. Go buy a midrange computer and play some good games. Deus Ex comes to mind, Morrowind too. And I'd mention SS2, but I might sound obsessive.

Have you played SS3? It's like SS2, only shiny. And not as good.
EDIT: Deus Ex - oh god yes. Also, a personal old favourite of mine: MDK2.

SS3 doesn't quite exist yet (and hopefully never will if it's being made by the developers that are supposedly making it). I think you might be talking about Bioshock, and I did like that, a lot. Not as much as the old favorites though.
I've never played MDK2, and seeing how its for PS2 (mine is busted), I probably never will.

What specs does your PC have?
I won't have a Wii until Christmas. While I doubt it will be the case, I hope it doesn't bore me the way the 360 and PS3 have.

Even with the worthless US dollar? Bummer.
Even then. Regrettably. On the other hand I just found out I'm getting a thousand dollar laptop for Christmas from my aunt, grandma, cousin and her husband. So it's more or less offset by that.
I guess it's my time to reciprocate - I have coveted the DS ever since it came out, but the thing keeping me from getting one is that the outdoors are a much needed hindrance to my video game addiction.
I've mastered the difficult art of walking/hiking while on the DS. Someday soon I'll master playing the DS with one hand while driving. Pedestrians and drivers alike will know my DS handle and fear!
But it really is an awesome system, and has a boatload of excellent games. Another game I have that I love is Etrian Odyssey, which is a delightful throwback to the days of dungeon crawling for hours on end.
You'd think Fass will eventually invite you to play with his wii. :D
He's more than welcome to cover the air-faire out to Sweden, though I may be inclined to stiff him on the last part when I arrive :D

I've never really been interested in... whatever you call those types of games these days.

Galaxy is a ton of fun. No chance that I'll properly finish all galaxies though. Not without a sneak peek at a guide after I've exhausted my other options.

I'm not a big fan of turn based games. Plus there is the small issue that I haven't played it yet. :p
I will though, I swear. And Fallout 3 might be fun. Maybe.

Anyway, I would be playing Galaxy right now if the Wii wasn't sold out in shops everywhere until January or so. Galaxy isn't what I've been particularly excited about though, rather the conclusion of Metroid Prime.

I was (crassly) talking about Bioshock. As for MDK2, I played it on PC before the PS2 existed. I loved the style of it, the ridiculousness with 1950s stylings.
EDIT: And a big whoops on missing the Fallout Series [/shame]

Oh, haha, how did I miss that?
I'll look out for MDK2, I've been needing something new.
I'm also on the lookout for Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter. I haven't been able to play it for years, and although it's not a GREAT game, it's actually pretty cool, especially for an aspiring developer like me.
Unfortunately, I looked at The Pirate Bay, and there were NO seeders, and nothing at all for the PC. Not cool.

It was a tough call, but I decided to bypass a Wii and get an XBox 360 instead. Super Mario Galaxy would've been worth it, but the XBox has so many games to choose from, and so much coming out for it... I mean, I just couldn't refuse.
But I still want a Wii, if only for Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy.

What luck, the perfect topic to announce my first console purchase. I bought one of them snazzy silver PSPs with Daxter today. I needed something to keep me entertained this winter at work (last year was unbearable), so on one of my irregular treks to civilization I snagged one up. Also bought that Test Drive Unlimited (I like fast cars and the tropics, it should keep my mind off 3 ton trucks and blizzards :)) and the new Medal of Honor Game cause I like killing Nazis and shit. Just have to find the new Worms game now. :)
