In other news, scientists finished

What is wrong with my computer! This is the second time this week.
The next Mod that comes along, please destroy this thread.

EDIT: Okay, it turns out the other thread was the evil twin. So without much ado, here is the real post:

I just read A Brief History of Time. In it, Hawking mentioned the "God equation," which is the physically law that explains all of the others, and consequently, the universe. He also says, though, that even the existence of such an equation does not imply we will ever find it: assuming mankind continues forever, it is still possible the equation itself prevents people from learning it. Does anyone here thing that such a equation exists? If so, do you think we will ever learn what it is, or in other words, learn all that is to be learned?

I guess the scientists failed.

Science. It has a high like no other.

And a low like your mother.

Sorry, it rhymed, I couldn't resist.

There was an X-files episode on it. It was about the Italian American gut who killed women because of his numerology and this one guy (probably God in human form) who helped Skully and Raez catch him. Raez in the episode suggested the existence of such a mathematical formula that explained the whole universe.

It reminds me of Paul Erdos' THE BOOK, where all of the most beautiful mathematical proofs were written by God. Personally, I think that such an equation exists and that we will figure it out; what better gift can a God give to his most promising creations than the secrets of their physical universe itself?

As Hawking put it, "Then we will know the mind of God."

You know, even if there IS a "god's law" it may very well be subject to heisenberg's uncertainty principle -- where figuring it out changes the law.

It's unlikely, but...

Been reading Douglas Adams, have we?

I'm gonna go with, "I don't know if there is a God Law or not, or if we'll ever find it."

What is this "God's Law" you speak of? And why do you continue to misspell my name? My name is not "God"; it is ZOD!

And the only law I have is "KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!"
