I got Chris Dodd at 22.0 (what does the number measure anyway)

then Hillary Clinton and Dennis Kucinich at 19.0

and John Edwards and Barack Obama at 18.0

Tied with Chris Dodd and John Edwards at 14.0. Fortunately, Hilary Clinton was just behind at 13.0, so at least one of my favorite candidates has a chance.

EDIT: I didn't see: Barack Obama is tied with Clinton.

I got Chris Dodd. Unfortunately, about half the questions featured an answer set that did not contain a single correct answer, nor an approximation of one.

Top at 28 is Kucinich, who has no chance.
Second at 27 is Dodd, who has no chance.
Third at 24 is Hillary, who I already planned to vote for.
Dead last is Tom "Neanderthal" Tancredo, who is too stupid to realize evolution is correct.

So if Kucinich and Dodd ran together, would they have a greater chance? Or would it be like multiplying fractions, and they actually have an even smaller chance than before?

I tied Rudy and Hillary, that is troublesome, right behind them with a score of 21 was Duncan whatever..........

I think I need a nap.

Clearly, you are destined to vote for their secret love-child in the 2048 election.

So if Kucinich and Dodd ran together, would they have a greater chance? Or would it be like multiply fractions, and they actually have an even smaller chance than before?

The latest five democratic pollings with at leats one of those two in it:

Hillary Clinton 44%, Barack Obama 24%, John Edwards 12%, Dennis Kucinich 4%, Joe Biden 4%, Bill Richardson 3%, Chris Dodd 0%
Hillary Clinton 44%, Barack Obama 25%, John Edwards 14%, Bill Richardson 4%, Joe Biden 3%, Chris Dodd 2%, Dennis Kucinich 2%, Mike Gravel 1%
Hillary Clinton 53%, Barack Obama 20%, John Edwards 13%, Bill Richardson 3%, Joe Biden 2%, Mike Gravel 2%, Dennis Kucinich 1%
Hillary Clinton 36%, Barack Obama 21%, John Edwards 16%, Bill Richardson 7%, Joe Biden 4%, Chris Dodd 1%, Mike Gravel 1%, Dennis Kucinich 1%
Hillary Clinton 40%, Barack Obama 25%, John Edwards 13%, Bill Richardson 4%, Joe Biden 2%, Dennis Kucinich 2%, Chris Dodd 1%, Mike Gravel 1%

So even if they combined into a single candidate with all their supporters, Dodd & Kucinich wouldn't even leave a dent.

i'd swear i saw this thread before and responded to it, but i don't see my response in it anywhere. maybe i dreamed it, or it was a different and forgotten thread.

hillary and gooliani are the obvious picks of the corporatocracy and that's who we'll be deciding between come november of 2008.

much as i would prefer a cousin itch and gravel ticket to get the nod.
no who represents what to me makes sense ever stands a snowflakes chance, mostly i think do, to their rightful unwillingness to kiss the ass of the corporate mafia.

and my position on imegration is that it is imoral to impose any restrictions on it at all, an option not offered in the survey.

and of course continuing to murder civilians and destroy their infrastructure to control the entire planet's flow of oil, which if sanity prevailed we would want to stop burning, along with anything else anyway, is an utterly inexcusable imoral insanity.

Well, despite my misgivings about the oversimplified nature of the test, here goes.

Rudy G and Bill Richardson - 9.0
Clinton and Gravel - 8.0
Dodd and Obama - 7.0
Edwards and McCain - 6.0

Wow, my top two are a very interesting combination.

I was rather unhappy with that question too. And annoyed at a lot of them. Some of them just don't reflect how you would deal with the situation. The Iran question, for instance. I'm sure I picked the same thing most of the Republican candidates would have, only I'd probably take longer to get bored with diplomacy.

To be fair, they do mention that the platforms are more detailed though. (But that still doesn't excuse the immeasurable amount of options for the education question...)

The education question did have a ridiculous amount of responses. And still nothing that accurately reflected my view. Ironic, no?

Same here. I don't support NCLB, I don't support vouchers, and I don't really care whether universal preschool is available or not. Well-funded schools that are not based on pencil circles is all I'm asking for.

Chris Dodd - 5.0
Dennis Kucinich - 5.0
Ron Paul - 5.0

Hillary Clinton
John Edwards
Rudy Giuliani
Mike Gravel
Mike Huckabee
Barack Obama
Joe Biden
Duncan Hunter
John McCain
Mitt Romney
Tom Tancredo
Fred Thompson
Bill Richardson

However, note that I personally eliminate Chris Dodd from consideration because he did vote in support of the Iraq War originally, even if he opposes it now.

So, my top two candidates are Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul. Unfortunately for them, they only win 5 "points." Judging from the fact that other people are getting matches of 20-30 points, I'm going to assume that only 5 "points" represents an extremely poor match.

Thus I am left with the same conclusion I have already drawn: I'll be voting for "no selection." At least until there is a candidate actually worth supporting. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarchism)

This isn't a problem with the quiz, but rather a problem with American politics, which is indeed skewed to the (authoritarian) right. The quiz doesn't include any other option because there aren't any candidates that represent those other options.

Say it ain't so, I got Hillary. Although some of the choices for questions, although highly varied, weren't always what I was looking for in any of them.

I put somewhat important for most of the questions too.

The next five were Dodd,Edwards,Obama,Kucinich, and Richardson, all of whom I like. Especially the last two.

Although taking it again, just changing how an important an issue is changes the scale and order of the candidates.

what was your number with mccain? what was your highest match with a democrat?

I'm at 21 w McCain and Tancredo. Joe Biden got a 12

just fyi - Giuliani was a 15.

I think some of the multiple choices were too similar.

Essentially I support troops in the middle east, oppose the federalization of education, oppose social security in every way, oppose government subsidization of healthcare, oppose overregulation of immigration, oppose the death penalty in all forms, oppose government intervention in marriage, support line item veto, oppose all government involvement in abortions, oppose federal involvement in mortgage markets, I oppose tax increases and nearly all non-military federal government spending.

Oddly - Many of the things I oppose on a federal level I wholly support on a state level (education and healthcare for example).
