It's official, Mike Huckabee is my first "Under no circumstances" candidate.

Sometimes something happens that makes someone question whether he or she is human because of the stupid fucking things that humans do. That was one of them.

Norris has always been a big supporter of the Reps. It’s no secret.
As to the ad in question, it was almost as embarrassing as Gordon Brown claiming he wakes up every day to the Arctic Monkeys.
Politicians and pop culture just don’t mix.

P.S. What's wrong with the Second Amendment? What's wrong with the "Fair Tax" and elimination of the IRS?

If I recall correctly, Arnold Swarzchenegger actually avoided doing just that.

P.S. What's wrong with the Second Amendment?
It's silly to have it as part of your constitution, if you never exert the right.
What's wrong with the "Fair Tax" and elimination of the IRS?
The fair tax is wrong because it assumes that rich people are going to hit hardest by it.
However, it's quite the opposite.
A few things that the fair tax will probably result in are:
Fewer imports, so less real wealth.
Fewer exports, depending on how the fair tax is carried out.
Fewer people taking holidays in the US - one of the reasons people go to New York right now is because it's cheaper to go there for a weekend, buy a lot of expensive stuff and then go home again. That will not be the case with the fair tax.
Poor people affording less. Seeing as how sales taxes in the US are added on to the listed price, I can't see the listed prices getting any lower or higher. However, people will still have to pay more. Poor people won't benefit from a reduction of income tax. Rich people will essentially pay the same or less tax, where poor people will end up footing a bill they cannot afford.
Can you imagine the results of all your products and services costing 25% more?
Oh yeah, and, speaking from personal experience, it will result in a massive black market.

Politicians and pop culture don’t mix, unless you’re in California, or that state which has the ex-wrestler as governor, or you remember Ronald Reagan’s films, or some other eventuality that I haven’t accounted for in my generalising. :p
That said, I doubt Ahhnallld’s knowledge of current pop culture is very large.

What exactly would eliminating the IRS accomplish, other than putting a lot of people out of work?

It would have to be replaced by some other method. Jobs would be lost but most likely gained into a new tax collecting entity.

The issue is not that they aren't funny, they were the first few times I came across Chuck Norris jokes. It's once I'd heard it twenty or thirty times I started to shrug. After 100 or so I was bored, and after 980,000 of 'em I want to puke.
It would have to be replaced by some other method. Jobs would be lost but most likely gained into a new tax collecting entity.
So we would abolish the IRS to replace them with? what the IRS2? The problem is not the IRS, The IRS did not create the tax laws, they simply enforce them to the best of their abilities

WITHOUT thinking less of me for not seeing the alleged "humor" in the commercial.
I have hereby lost all respect for Chuck Norris. He is no longer powerful enough to kick my ass.
Why? What did Chuck Norris do that offended you? (YES, I WATCHED THE COMMERCIAL.)
Quite the opposite.
I now have respect -1 for him.
That was a horrible ad.
What was so bad about it? Is it because he endorsed a candidate who wants to keep the 2nd Amendment intact?
Or is it because he acknowledges that the IRS has entirely too much power, and wants to do something about it and stop the IRS' oppression of taxpayers?
P.S. What's wrong with the Second Amendment? What's wrong with the "Fair Tax" and elimination of the IRS?
That's what I'm trying to find out from them. It sounds to me like they are in love with higher taxes and want to get rid of the 2nd Amendment so we will be unable to defend ourselves from, or revolt against, an oppressive, power-hungry government.
