Thanksgiving is coming up, so in the spirit thereof, I would like to know some things that my fellow NSGers are thankful for. I'll start by listing some of mine:

A house to live in
Electricity
Running water (hot AND cold)
Transportation
A source of income to make sure I keep those four items above (i.e. a job)
Good health
Life
Being raised in a two-parent family
A computer
Internet access
My church family
Max Barry's (and that of the Mods and Admins who act here on his behalf) tolerance of "unpopular" or "minority" opinions
The Mods' and Admins' setting aside of their own personal biases/viewpoints when exercising their offices

What are some things YOU are thankful for?

I am thankful for the general obscurity of anyone who posts on a thread.
I am thankful that I am an artist.
I am thankful for the advent of atheism in this day and age.
I am thankful for my dad, who let me think for myself and loved me for it.
I am thankful for the hope that lies in the future, and no i am not talking about a game.
I am thankful for all the things given to me by the universe.
that about covers it.

Of course, I'm thankful of all the stuff like "Oh, a house over my head." But since we're ALL thankful of that, I'll skip to the other stuff.

Toilets.
Trees.
Ventilation shafts.
Couch covers.
Hats.
Chess.
Stuff.
Things.
Etc.

I don't understand. Why do you consider this thread "junk"? Do you not believe in gratitude or something?

This is NOT "junk". In this modern day we live in, people have an unfortunate tendency to be selfish, inconsiderate, and ungrateful, so some genuine giving of thanks is most certainly in order. And not just on Thankgiving Day, but every day of the year.

Some more things I am thankful for:
A God who loved me enough to become a human being and die to pay for my sins so I would not have to pay for them eternally in hell
The existence of such a just, righteous, and loving God
The existence of heaven
A written revelation of that God (i.e. the Bible)
The promise of a mansion in the Father's house, given to me by Jesus in John 14:2,3: "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

Well then I'll just have to spend it all on college, and start embezzling.

I'm also thankful for Sofia Coppola.

I'm thankful for an overactive imagination that for some bizarre reason has resonance in this wacky, mixed-up world. Especially this forum! :p

In seriousness, i am thankful for weasels.

i'm thankful that thanksgiving no longer openly celibrates the genocide it was origeonally created to.

but not for this minor little detail being completely forgotten, misunderstood and misrepresented.

I'm thankful to be in a place where the air is clean (relatively).
I'm thankful that I can look out my bedroom window and see spectacular views.
I'm thankful that both my kids live close by.
I'm especially thankful that I own my own home - no mortgage payment.
I'm thankful that I have my health.

Thanksgiving was created by bourgeois Puritans to oppress the Proletariat. They feast that day to celebrate their wealth, knowing that they are nourished by slave labor. But one day, Thanksgiving will celebrate the liberation of the people from bourgeois oppressors, and freedom, justice, and true equality for all.

So am I. I want to see the bourgeoisis sizzle and burn. Then, we can all live in peace, freedom, and have no need for a silly state.

WHO ARE these "bougeois Puritans"? Who, or what, is this Proletariat? Come to me, bourgeois Puritans and Proletariat, if you dare! I defy you! Come! Come and kneel before Zod!...ZOD!

So ... you don't have anything for which you're thankful?

And, incidentally, you've reminded me of more things for which I'm truly thankful;

1. that I am a descendent of those Puritans who came to this continent.
2. that I haven't succumbed to Marxist rhetoric.
