Who would win? (flood vs zerg)

Flood or zerg?
Zerg are a hivemind. They can employ tactics on a large scale. They also have air power. A bunch of Guardians should take care of the Flood.

since it's a lower case "z" in zerg we have to assume it's some other sort of swarm since the term has entered the lexicon. I guess the answer would depend on the scale of each, but unless the zerg includes amphibious or water dwelling creatures I think the flood would likely win.

Comparing races from different universes with different laws and rules never works and ends up like another Trek v Stargate argument.

I don't know what a flood or a zerg are, and I can't spare the brain cells to find out.
What I want to know is: do either have strong moral values?
Whichever is more liberal will of course LOSE.

The Flood would prevail because of their adaptability, easy attrition replacements and logistical flexibility.

The Zerg have adapted to air, land and space, and can churn out replacements like a disgusting little grub factory.

They're equally soulless, I believe. However, Zerg still win it.
Zerg are totalitarian. All hail the Overmind!
Zerg, duh.
Well, at least, if they can spawn more overlords.

Flood or zerg? The flood would overwhelm the Zerg, but the Zerg would then corrupt the flood, The corrupted flood would then overwhelm all else, meaning that technically both win, but really the Zerg win.

The flood was so powerful it killed some ancient race that had created the Halos to contain it.Obviously they spread somhow,so I say FLOOD THE ZERG.but both are awesome.

And the Zerg assimilated the Xel'Naga ;)
The Zerg can also create units that are immortal unless slain by dark templar. So unless the flood has a stash of those somewhere...

As much as I love the Zerg, I have a feeling that in the end the two would merge. Either the Zerg would assimilate the Flood or vice versa, but either way it'd be a collective victory since, technically, the Flood would have their food and the Zerg would have an even more perfected ability.
Just imagine, for a moment, an Overmind/Gravemind cross. Grovermind? Sounds like a diabolical dog. Regardless, it'd be stronger than ever.
edit: In hindsight, if the Zerg didn't assimilate the Flood they'd definitely win anyway. Flood can starve, Zerg... well, they're the almighty Swarm.

To the best of my knowledge, only units with a direct link with the Overmind can be immortalized, such as the Cerebrates. It's the Dark Templar energies that disrupt the flow between the Overmind and his underling long enough for it to be killed. I don't think normal units (Zerglings, Hydralisks, etc.) can be made the same. Possibly some structures, however, like a Hive, since it's connected to the Creep.

Quite correct. However, some cerebrates have the power to spawn superunits, like the aforementioned Torrasque, and keep respawning them.
An indestructable factory in other words.
Of course, if there is only one immortal cerebrate that can create only one superunit at a time left vs an army the army wins.

I know they can't usually, but I'm saying it may be possible for a specific Hive to be made immortal. Just speculation, though.

That fight will always go to Samus hands-down, not to say anything bad about SPARTANs but the Power Suit is just so much more advanced and powerful that pitting it against anything even remotely realistic is going to result in the opponent smearing over the walls.

They're both soulless, inhuman monstrosities that move from place to place, ravaging planets and turning them into barren husks with no concern for life or dignity.
So I'd say they're both pretty conservative.

If they were conservative they'd be uptight about certain values, since most of them are too dumb (having a brain similar to that of a wild animal) and the ones that can think don't give a damn about moral values or dignity, just about winning. I'd say they aren't conservative at all. If anything they're communist because everyone except the sentient leaders are equal, and the sentient leaders are obeyed no matter what.

Replace sentient leaders with political and economic elite and what's the difference?
The economic elite would compete with everyone else for power and wealth, the political leaders in these races are all on the same ball game and that goes fo their underlings as well.
