Poultry checked for flu exposure

Vets investigating an outbreak of the virulent H5N1 strain of bird flu are checking whether other poultry flocks could have been exposed to the virus.

A cull of 6,500 birds is continuing at the Suffolk farm, near Diss, where the infection was discovered on Sunday.

A 3km (1.9 mile) protection zone and a 10km (6.2 mile) surveillance zone have been set up around the affected site.

Officials are looking at any "dangerous contact" with other flocks through human, wild bird or poultry movement.

Hah, I was reminded about birdflu the other week when there was an item on the news here about all the pharmacies that lost heaps of money on unclaimed tamiflu orders from during the 'scare'.

Maybe they'll get lucky and sell it all over Crimbo.

Of course I remember the Bird Flu!

I was the first person to die from it, but was reborn in Thanksgiving Day 2002 in order to get my revenge...kinda like The Crow.

Unfortunately? If bird flu mutates and it becomes possible for it to be transmitted from person to person instead of Bird to person then their will be a world wide pandemic like the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic Millions would die so be happy that it's not an steep upward trend.

On the other hand, we haven't been ravaged by 4 years of continual grinding war. Unless you live in Afghanistan or something, in which case, how are you using the internets?

......what? Where did this come from?

Why the hell is that unfortunate?

Also, unless you're a fool, you'll realise that your graph is a cumulative one. Yes, an outstanding 300 people have died of Bird Flu in 3 years.

The same number of people die from malaria every quarter of an hour.
